Overview

The Intergr8 programme is the leading soft skills for cyber training, built from research funded by the US, Dutch and Swedish governments. The training is assured by the UK Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Two options (1) for your teams (2) for security leaders.

For your team members, we offer two half-day Hacking Cybersecurity Teams workshops. This is an interactive and stress-free training to strengthen the soft skills for your cyber security teams.

In this transformative two-part cybersecurity workshop, attendees confront common challenges head-on.

Session 1 - Breaking Down Barriers Within and Between Cybersecurity Teams

This session tackles the pervasive issue of isolation within and between cybersecurity teams, recognizing its impact on burnout, turnover, and insider threats. Drawing from the Integr8 program, participants learn to dismantle barriers to collaboration by fostering open communication channels, strengthening organizational diversity and inclusion, and promoting psychological safety.

Session 2 - Reducing Burnout by Increasing Collaboration in Cybersecurity

This session harnesses the power of collaboration to combat burnout. As cyber security professionals grapple with complexity and information overload, these workshops equip them with the social-behavioural tools to enhance teamwork, boost efficiency, and elevate autonomy. Attendees will leave with a newfound ability to bridge gaps, reduce burnout, and fortify their own resilience.

The 1-day Hacking Cyber Security Leadership training is an interactive, stress-free training to strengthen soft skills for leading cyber security teams.

The use of technology is a human task, and how your teams work together is the one element in your ecosystem that is unhackable. This course is an unprecedented opportunity to invest in your capacity as a leader and, in turn, the resilience of your teams.

Outline

The training acts as a sandbox, is built on social-behavioural research of CSIRT’s and security teams, delivered through expert-facilitated exercises. The exercises are not cybersecurity specific, which allows participants to disrupt their normal, routine ways of leading and open up you the possibilities for growth and change as leaders. The tools readily allow for the concreate transfer of knowledge and soft skills from the training back to the workplace.

Course highlights include:

  • Interactive, stress-free exercises that allow participants to play and explore new perspectives around how to lead others so they are better equipped when they return to the volatile and uncertain environment of cybersecurity
  • A unique focus on the human component of cybersecurity that includes both personal and professional development for each participant
  • A framework for proactively organising and setting the direction for multi-team systems
  • 10 evidence-based analogue tools to strengthen soft skills that will increase collaboration and reduce burnout
  • Practical guidance from expert trainers for implementing these tools with buy-in from the teams you lead

As cyber security professionals grapple with complexity and information overload, these workshops equip them with the social-behavioural tools to enhance teamwork, boost efficiency, and elevate autonomy. Attendees will leave with a newfound ability to bridge gaps, reduce burnout, and fortify their own resilience.

Session 1: Breaking Down Barriers Within and Between Cyber Security Teams

There’s a serious problem in the cyber security industry. Leaders are wired to focus more on adversaries and the technology that defends against those adversaries while focusing less on the people who do the defending. In turn, some of those people on the good side, the ones currently working for your organisation, see leaders as the adversary. This is what leads to employee challenges such as burnout, turnover, and, of course, insider threats that are driven by retaliation, disdain, and a reciprocal uncaring attitude toward an organisation that doesn’t care about them.

Throughout this half-day workshop of facilitated exercises adapted from the Integr8 programme, participants will practice strategies for opening up channels of communication among employees and leaders in order to proactively mitigate these challenges.

Session 2: Reducing Burnout by Increasing Collaboration in Cyber Security

Cyber security professionals are faced with increasingly complex problems and encounter information entering their ecosystems at lightning-fast speeds. Along with analysts' predisposition to working alone, the current state of incident response is a recipe for burnout.

When working alone leads to complete success, long live the victor; yet when working alone leads to anything other than complete success, individuals experience the precursors to burnout: shame, guilt, embarrassment, frustration, and anger. Throughout this half-day workshop of facilitated exercises adapted from the Integr8 programme, participants will strengthen their desire and ability to collaborate with others and reduce the likelihood of burnout.
