It means that there is a clear focus from the beginning of the programme on successful completion of the end-point assessment.

Cloud Academy

Unique to QA, with access to over 10,000 hours of learning, the Cloud Academy offers apprentices access to a tailored programme pathway and secure hands-on labs to practise in a secure environment, honing their skills before implementing these in the workplace.

The benefits of our apprenticeship technology:

Less time out of the business

Cloud Academy allows learners to access the training and study at a time convenient to them, resulting in less time out of the office.

Better transparency of progress

With your unique employer login, you can easily access a dashboard with status and progress updates of apprentices and programmes, and request specific reports tailored to your needs.

Enhanced learner journey

Apprentices can easily track submissions, receive feedback and have live chats with their tutor, providing an enhanced and consistent learner journey and enabling them to progress faster.

Apprenticeship programmes

“Apprentices make good progress on their apprenticeships. Many go on to achieve merit or distinction grades at the endpoint assessment and achieve additional qualifications... Most apprentices are ambitious, proud of their success and keen to move on to study at a higher level.”

Recruit an apprentice

QA has an extensive attraction and recruiting service targeted at young people interested in and passionate about a career in tech. Our recruitment model includes vigorous AI assessments for candidates to ensure we select apprentices of the highest calibre.

We are passionate about diversity in tech and work closely with organisations including Code First: Girls, Stemettes, The Youth Group and Young Professionals to ensure apprentices from all backgrounds are given opportunities, while we're also helping to close the gender gap in tech.

We work with you to ensure the apprentice is a great fit for both the role and your company, and help you choose the apprentice and best programme path.

QA's response to Covid-19

The Government has issued guidance in response to Covid-19, encouraging training providers to deliver training to apprentices remotely and via e-learning as far as is practicable

We recognise that these are challenging times for many, and some employers might be tempted to place learners on a ‘Break in Learning’. Our experience suggests this is the wrong thing to do, as many who go on a break will never re-join the programme – wasting all their effort so far. On the contrary, now is the time for existing apprentices to accelerate their learning.

Furthermore, the Government has confirmed (i) flexibilities to allow furloughed apprentices to continue their training, and to take their end-point assessment, and (ii) that existing furloughed employees can start a new apprenticeship, as long as it does not provide services to, or generate revenue for, their employer.

What a great opportunity to utilise otherwise lost time!  We have been overwhelmed by the adaptability and resilience apprentices have shown shifting how they work, and how they learn, so rapidly.

Research published by the Industrial Strategy Council suggests that by 2030 nearly 90% of the working population may lack the digital skills needed. At a time when digital technologies have rapidly changed all our working lives, it is perhaps a moment to consider how many more employees might benefit from a technology apprenticeship.
