About the speakers

Mark Crump

Head of Cloud Solutions

As the Head of Cloud Solutions, Mark architects the adoption, creation and delivery of our public cloud courses. As well as heading up this sector Mark also delivers training on Microsoft and Google public clouds as well as System Center Virtual Machine Manager/Hyper-V Private Cloud and Server 2012R2 on premise infrastructure.

Guest Speaker - Chris Astley

As Director, Cloud Practice Lead for professional services company KPMG UK, Chris Astley is on the front lines of helping businesses transform to a cloud-based infrastructure and a DevOps approach.

Chris initially worked for a start-up doing vehicle telematics for about nine years straight out of university, which gave him the opportunity to grow really rapidly. He started out as one of only two developers in the company, got all the battle scars from having his own data centre, migrated the whole stack to the cloud, and wound up with a team of 30 to look after. Then about four years ago, he wanted something completely new, and KPMG was where he landed. From there it was all about proving DevOps works—one project quickly became more than a hundred, the team has grown to over 90 Engineers and they’ve never looked back!

Guest Speaker - Adam Stewart, Regional Manager – UK Public Sector, Google

As the regional lead for Google Cloud in the public sector, Adam works with business leaders and teams in central Government, NHS, local councils and other public sector bodies in the UK. Adam’s role is to drive change in the UK public sector through the adoption of Google solutions that help transform the business practices, empower staff, enable a culture of innovation and reduce IT complexity. Adam has previously led the Google for Education UK team where his role resulted in over a million additional UK students and staff benefiting from ‘Anytime, anywhere’ learning using Google Apps for Education and a significant increase in the market share of chromebooks in UK education.

Adam has worked in technology in the public sector and education sectors for the last 14 years and prior to joining Google worked at RM Education for 9 years in the marketing and product management teams.
