What is an agile business analyst?

Business analysts help organisations "do the right thing" – scrutinising options, challenging ideas and thinking critically to make sure the best possible solution is identified before it is delivered.

Agile business analysts are an integrated part of the agile team throughout the life of the project. They facilitate collaboration within the project team and across the business. In addition to their traditional skills of modelling and specification, the agile business analyst requires new skills in collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching. They must adapt to new ways of eliciting, specifying and managing requirements.

There are over 23.3 million professionals on LinkedIn who list "business analysis" as a skillset. Additionally, 9.75 million professionals hold the title of business analyst and 4.42 million list their title as senior business analyst.
