Businesses and other organisations must ensure that they are compliant with current data protection regulations, learn how to plan effectively for compliance with upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The new EU GDPR legislation provides a single, data privacy law for the European Union and it aims to prevent the loss of personal data by improving data security for all individuals living in EU member states.
UK organisations have until June 2018 to comply with the new law, or potentially face fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million.

This briefing session, delivered by a data protection specialist - will give you an insight into the new EU GDPR regulations whilst also considering the implications of Brexit on them and how it impacts you and your organisation.

Presenter Biography

With over 20 years IT training experience, Lynda Woollard has had varied roles at HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and a secondment as a digital forensics officer to the National Crime Squads’ National High Tech Crime Unit when it was formed in 2001. Lynda has extensive experience of conducting digital forensics examinations in both corporate and law enforcement environments as well as a sound understanding of global IT security issues from her time as an IT security advisor in the FCO. Lynda has over 10 years’ experience compliance auditing within HMRC and has passed the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor examination.
