Tom has been in IT for 15 years, from support to architecture and now at Microsoft focusing on security. In his presentation he will discuss why Microsoft is in fact a security company.

Joe Grand

Product Designer, Hardware Hacker, and the founder of Grand Idea Studio

Joe specializes in creating, exploring, and manipulating electronic devices. Formerly known as Kingpin, Joe was a member of the legendary hacker group L0pht Heavy Industries, where he helped raise awareness of computer security vulnerability research and disclosure. He was also a co-host of Discovery Channel's Prototype "This", an engineering entertainment programme that followed the real-life design process of a unique prototype every episode. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University and a Doctorate of Science in Technology (Honorary) degree from the University of Advancing Technology. In his presentation he will discuss the Tools of the Hardware Hacking Trade.

At Google, Tom works with leading Financial Services organisations to meet their business and security goals through digital transformation using data, analytics and machine learning. Tom has deep domain knowledge in IT Security from running teams of software developers, building products, mentoring and advising startups and founders on their technology and growth strategy. Having worked in IT Security for a number of years as an Analyst, leading a Security Operations Center, Consultant and Advisor, Tom has a wealth of experience across a range of industries. A specialist in security monitoring Tom has helped design and deliver automated monitoring and response strategies for leading financial organisations around the world. At Google Tom is deeply engaged with Tier 1 Banks to help them securely migrate to Google Cloud. Tom regularly provide insight as subject matter expert through industry publications and speaking at events. His presentation is titled "Security at scale: Lessons from 15+ years of keeping Google secure"

Tim Harwood

CEO Siker (part of HS&TC)

Tim Harwood is a veteran of the security world and has been providing information security guidance and expertise to Corporate clients, the UK Government and the UK military for over 30 years. As Director of Siker (Part of Harwood Security and Training Consultancy), he provides direction for the company which he founded in 2013. Tim’s professional background includes security capability strategy planning and development, information security capability framework design and implementation and security awareness strategy design and implementation. He has developed a security professional development framework for a global top ten oil and gas company, delivered training as a member of the SANS faculty and, as a thought leader, regularly presents at summits and conferences. In 2013, he participated as a Subject Matter Expert for the design of new certifications and training courses e.g. the GICSP certification.

Oz Alashe MBE is CEO and Founder at CybSafe, an innovative and fast-growing British cyber security company based at the prestigious Level39 tech community in Canary Wharf. A former UK Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel, Oz is now focused on making society more secure by helping organisations effectively address the human aspect of cyber security. He and his team have developed a software platform that leverages advanced data analytics and cognitive technologies to measure and improve cyber security awareness, behaviour and culture. He has extensive experience and understanding in the areas of intelligence insight, complex human networks and the human component of cyber security risk. He is also passionate about reducing societal threats to stability and security by making the most of opportunities presented through advancements in technology. Oz’s dynamic and socially-driven mission approach have attracted attention and interest from influencers and decision makers keen to address the realities of cyber security and the impact on people, business and community. He is regularly asked to comment in the national press as well as speak at events, often talking about issues relating to intelligence, cyber security and the socio-tech challenges faced by society. He is also a keen advocate of social investment and has worked with several mentorship schemes and charities that aim to help young people from all walks of life fulfil their potential. Oz was made an MBE in 2010 for his personal leadership in the most complex of conflict environments.

His mission is to help organisations keep their staff safe online, secure their digital assets and help protect their reputation and brand. In his presentation he will discuss 'A Dummies Guide to GDPR in Practice'.

Sudhanshu is a Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) graduate with a further Diploma in Cyber Security. Towards the end of his studies, he also began freelance writing about Information Security for the InfoSec Institute. In 2012 he worked as a Security Analyst for iViz performing Web and Mobile Application Penetration Testing, progressing to Senior Security Analyst, which also involved in-house training. He then moved to Octogence as a Security Consultant before taking up his current role at NotSoSecure. He co-authored the book ‘Hacking Web Intelligence’, which deals with Open Source Intelligence and Web Reconnaissance concepts and techniques; has co-organized Recon Village at DEFCON 25 in Las Vegas and C0C0N 2017 in Kerala; is a corecontributor to DataSploit (OSINT Framework) and has been a contributor at numerous events including Ground Zero Summit 2015 (New Delhi), Cyber Hackathon Bar-Ilan University (Israel) and NullCon.

Sunil is an information security professional with over 10 years of experience in application security, mobile security, and source code review. He first trained as a software developer and began his career in Cyber Security in 2008 as a researcher working in training and penetration testing. This led to work for numerous large organizations in different sectors which involved assessing networks, systems and application security. He has delivered national and international training programs and seminars on web application security, threat modelling, mobile security and secure coding. Over the years, his work around identifying and reporting security vulnerabilities has earned him credits and accolades from major brands including Microsoft, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Nokia, Apache, PayPal and Oracle.

Tony is an experienced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS or “drone”) and cyber security principal consultant, with over 23 years in the Royal Air Force and 9 years in Industry. Tony has worked for SMEs and large international Defence Primes, but for the past two years has been a director and co-owner of Level 7 Expertise Ltd, a small business based in Northamptonshire. Tony has worked on or with most of the UK MOD’s current and recent portfolio of UAS, and also has experience in a number of international programmes. He has experience of enterprise audit and insider threat programmes, and comes from a strong military intelligence background. More recently, he has been involved in Cyber Vulnerability Investigations across a number of platforms and capabilities, and through his chairmanship of a number of high-profile Counter-Drone conferences is recognised as a leading proponent in his field. As part of Level 7’s Corporate Social responsibility activity. He has started an education programme for business owners and local government, seeking to improve their cyber security and business resilience.

He specializes in designing and building secure environments that address customer threat models and align with their compliance requirements. Esteban has spent the majority of his career focused on helping customers transform their security functions, shifting them from traditional thinkers to innovators in the cloud. He also has in-depth experience in securing payment services and embedded consumer devices having led several security engineering teams. During the presentation, Esteban will discuss Amazon Web Services security principles and how that is enabling the company’s rapid pace of innovation.
