Overview
The Certified Lead Disaster Recovery Manager is a four-day training course intended to help participants acquire the necessary expertise to support an organisation in establishing, implementing, and managing a disaster recovery planning project.
Disastrous events, which may be caused by natural, human, or technological hazards, significantly affect an organisation’s ability to reach its objectives. In addition, the operations of many organisations are threatened due to a disaster after they cannot respond to or recover from the disaster adequately. That is why organisations should focus on developing capacities to prevent, anticipate, manage, and recover from disasters effectively through well-planned and tested disaster recovery plans (DRP).

The PECB Certified Lead Disaster Recovery Manager training course provides an approach to managing a disaster recovery planning project and developing and implementing an information and communications technology (ICT) disaster recovery plan. It equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyse the incident response plan, emergency plan, and crisis management plan, and conduct disaster recovery testing and performance measurements. By attending this training course, you will be introduced to disaster recovery best practices and will learn how to conduct a risk assessment and business impact analysis (BIA) for disaster recovery.
After attending the course, you are eligible to apply for sitting the exam. If you successfully pass the exam, you can apply for the “PECB Certified Lead Disaster Recovery Manager” credential. This credential will demonstrate your knowledge and professional capabilities to support and lead disaster recovery teams in implementing disaster recovery strategies based on best practices.
Exam details:
The “PECB Certified Lead Disaster Recovery Manager” exam meets all the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). It covers the following competency domains:
- Domain 1: Fundamental concepts of disaster recovery
- Domain 2: Planning disaster recovery
- Domain 3: Development and activation of the disaster recovery plan
- Domain 4: Selection of the disaster recovery site and competence development
- Domain 5: Disaster recovery testing and maintenance

What's included:
- Certification and examination fees are included in the price of the training course.
- Training material containing over 450 pages of information and practical examples will be distributed to participants.

- If candidates fail the exam for the first time, they are eligible to retake it for free within a 12-month period following the initial attempt.

If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".
If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

Joining instructions for QA courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe. For course bookings made via QA but delivered by a third-party supplier, joining instructions are sent to attendees prior to the training course, but timescales vary depending on each supplier’s terms.
