Jane Atkinson-Weller

Head of Office Applications

Jane joined QA in 1998, training Microsoft Office and specialising in graphics, web design and project management software. Jane is a Microsoft Office Specialist in Office 97-2016, holds TAP and TPMA assessor certificates and is a Prince2 Practitioner. She is an award winning trainer coming second in the LPI’s Trainer of the Year. As Head of Business Applications, she leads a team of over 40 trainers and is responsible for developing and directing QA’s end user applications training. Working to develop new courses and course materials, she is a key contact for engaging in complex bespoke programmes. Jane also heads up QA’s Trainer Observation Programme (QTOP) working with QA trainers to assess and develop their delivery skills.

Deputy Head of Office Applications and Team Leader

Mark is a MOS Master instructor based in the North-West, and has been involved in IT training for nearly 20 years. Having joined QA in 2006 working as a Business Applications Trainer, he has now moved in to the role of Deputy Head of Business Applications, with particular emphasis on supporting the Head of department and also the Principal Consultant roles, whist retaining a day to day training/consultant role. He has extensive experience of delivering training to all levels, in a variety of formats and is often a lead trainer in large projects and work for key clients. Mark is also an assessor of QA trainers as part of our internal quality control process and mentors trainers in delivery skills.

John has worked in the IT training for 29 years, 20 of which have been with QA. Through this time John has gained “in-the-field” experience with database administration, VB and VBA programming and development, and web design. With almost 10 years of SharePoint administration experience, John heads the Microsoft SharePoint curriculum, where he authors QA’s SharePoint and related Office 365 courses for business professionals. John also supports the SharePoint training team and reviews the latest technologies associated with SharePoint as he eagerly grows his knowledge and experience in Microsoft cloud technologies.

Richard is the Principal Technologist for Microsoft Business Applications responsible for overseeing the development and production of new courses for QA and its clients. He has over 25 years’ experience of working with Office Applications and in client business application transformation projects, gaining a wide variety of experience across all sectors both commercial and not for profit. QA lead on Office 365 working closely with Microsoft since its launch in 2011. As a qualified PRINCE2® Practitioner, Richard has undertaken all project roles and is fully conversant with the PRINCE2® methodologies and their application. Equally happy in the classroom, delivering seminars, one to one or distance learning, Richard’s main focus is always on providing innovative and best value solutions to the client. Richard is based in the Midlands (Coventry).

Richard is an Adobe Certified Expert and MOS Master Instructor based in Leeds, and has been an instructor for over 25 years. He joined QA in 2009 as part of the takeover of Remarc by QA and has since become the Principal Technologist for QA’s Adobe curriculum. Richard has experience of many aspects of training, including designing courses and course content, writing courseware manuals, delivering training, providing post course support, floor-walking and drop-in sessions.

Liz joined QA in August 2005 as a Senior Business Applications Instructor and now has 20 years’ experience in this field. Previously Liz was a freelance instructor working for various UK IT Training companies. Lead trainer roles which she has taken on involve having responsibility for designing, developing and delivering bespoke / tailored programmes to meet specific customer requirements and since 2011 she has been involved in delivering Virtual Training Courses covering MS Office Applications as well as specialised courses and webinars for clients. Liz won the Bronze Award for Live Online Learning Facilitator of the Year at the 2014 Learning & Performance Institute Awards and is also a Certified Online Learning Facilitator. Liz has excellent customer facing, interpersonal and communication skills, has a passion for training, acquiring new skills and experiences and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Tahir is a London Based (TAP & MOS accredited) Senior Office Applications Consultant & Google End User Lead and has been involved in training for 15 years. He is involved in consulting and training for large blue chip organisations and works on high profile IT projects and rollouts often in large teams. Tahir has a vast skillset ranging from the Microsoft products across all versions and levels to web development, programming, Office 365, Apple Mac, G-Suite tools from Google, Cloud technology and mobile tools. Tahir is an expert in scoping, creating, learning, delivering and supporting training for bespoke business applications and is often utilised as a Lead trainer. Tahir is also a MOS Exam Invigilator for QA and a trainer for QA’s “Attend from Anywhere” remote course offerings.

Chris joined QA in July 2007 as a Business Applications Consultant, based in Bristol. He has over 20 years’ experience in this role. Chris’s previous roles include training a flexi-time system, and being the sole-trainer for a private organisation of 5,000 staff. Other notable roles have included Service Delivery Manager, where he managed 2nd Line Support, Hardware, Telecoms and Training services to the organisation’s 5,000 members of staff.

Dragoslav’s computer training career started in 1985 developing and delivering courses on Lotus 1-2-3 and AutoCAD. He joined QA in November 2004 to provide training on all desktop applications (Microsoft, Macromedia, and Adobe), programming courses (VB6, VBA, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, ActionScript) and UNIX. As one of the trainers with the largest set of skills in the field of business applications training at QA, Dragoslav has worked with numerous companies providing training on many off-the-shelf and bespoke applications, to audiences ranging from 1 to a classroom of 12.

Gentha is organised, used to prioritising heavy workloads to meet targets, committed with good interpersonal skills which enable him to assess and identify the needs of individuals. Jon is a MOS Master Trainer with over 18 years’ experience of training Microsoft application courses to advanced level. Jon’s primary interest is training SharePoint and InfoPath end user courses and is QA’s Subject Matter Expert in training SharePoint End User, SharePoint Administration, SharePoint Designer and End User Workflows. He has created and developed courseware manuals and associated learning materials for SharePoint Designer and Workflows. Jon has also co-authored manuals on HTML and CSS.

Laurence’s career in computing started back in the late 1960s when he joined his father to become a qualified Production Manager of a company specialising in women’s outerwear. During those early years in the tailoring industry he learnt about production management, tailoring, bookkeeping and payroll which led to using accounts software and the PC in the early days of computing. His new found interest in personal computers led to the construction and installation of office networks and he finally became an IT engineer for a training company in Reading. From there, he moved into the role of IT trainer. Laurence has been with QA for over 20 years and is dedicated to helping those who wish to learn more about the world of computing.

She has been involved in delivering courses using a variety of training delivery methods to user populations from 50 to over 1,000 and is one of QA’s end user SharePoint trainers.

Marion is a MOS Master instructor based in Scotland, and has been involved in IT training for over 20 years. Marion joined QA in February 1998 from Stakis Plc. where she worked as a trainer. She joined the company in the role of lead trainer for IBM’s client managed training service. Marion has a degree in computing and a post graduate certificate in education (computing). Before graduating, she spent a one year industrial placement with IBM as a trainee analyst/programmer. Marion has extensive experience of delivering training to all levels, in a variety of formats and is often involved in large projects and work for key clients.

Richard has been involved with all stages of training rollout, from scoping client requirements, training needs analysis, designing course content and structure, authoring courseware and supporting documentation, one-to-one and classroom delivery, remote learning (Attend from Anywhere) and conference presentations. As well as Microsoft Office based (all versions), Richard is now one of the Senior trainers at QA for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 / 2010 / 2013 / 2016 / Online.

Roger has been involved in the IT training industry since the mid-1990s. He is heavily utilised within London and the Southeast spending time with some major clients on a very regular basis. Roger is seen as one of the most knowledgeable Excel trainers having recently authored courses relating to Advanced Excel Function Writing, PowerPivot and VBA for Excel. He has exceptional MS Office knowledge, along with MS Project and Visio and also trains on Crystal Reports. Within the QA Team of trainers Roger was voted trainer of the year for 2014; he is regularly the trainer to go to within his peer group for knowledge development.

Sarah joined QA in September 2011 as a Business Applications Specialist. Her previous roles include 6 years as a Microsoft Applications Trainer for a large engineering consultancy and application support for the executive directors. Her role at QA is delivering training, both at QA centres and on various client sites in the four core Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook across the 2003 – 2016 versions. She also delivers the new features courses for Office 2016 migration and Office 365 End User courses. Sarah is also an assessor of QA trainers as part of our internal quality control process and mentors trainers in delivery skills.

Prior to QA, Simon was part of a small team of internal trainers delivering Microsoft applications training for the Home Office. Over the past 18 years Simon has specialised in Microsoft Office applications for PC and Mac, developing and delivering training events across versions 97 to 2016 in class and, as of 2017, virtually. He covers introductory to advanced levels, across the full gamut of learning environments from formal classroom to bespoke, informal one-to-one sessions. Simon is also an assessor of QA trainers as part of our internal quality control process and mentors trainers in delivery skills.

Tim has 15 years of training experience including 2 years working within the NHS. Tim is also involved in delivering bespoke solutions to key clients with medium to long term projects being focal to this role. Previous roles have included working as a Senior Programmer for Anglo American Corporation in Africa, Data Processing Manager for the Ecomed Group in Africa and as a trainer and consultant in both freelance and permanent capacities, in Africa and here in the UK. Tony’s main role at QA is training and consultancy for clients in the following areas: Microsoft SharePoint 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office 365 Online and course delivery for a range of Microsoft Office applications (versions 2000-2016).

Trevor Glover

Trevor lives in Tamworth in Staffordshire and has over 30 years’ experience of training mostly with Microsoft Office courses to advanced level including Visual Basic for Applications. He was a serving member of the Armed Services (army for 18 years) and specialised in communications, IT and HR roles. For the last 23 years, after leaving the services, he has worked in IT training. Trevor has worked alongside and in partnership with the mainstream banks and building societies, the NHS and a number of blue chip companies. This has been not only in a training capacity, but also using his development skills, implementing systems and procedures to enable the workforce to simplify complex routines and work with data analysis systems.
