Many neuro-diverse people need additional support to train and work in cyber security. However, studies show that neuro-diverse skills are well suited to cyber security, and can often outperform neurotypicals in focused, detailed work and at recognising unusual patterns in data.
With only 16% of autistic adults in full time employment, Community SOC will be used as a training centre to provide a programme to develop skills within cyber security and bridge the gap of skill shortages, where the demand is at an all-time high. It will also develop services to protect the internet access of vulnerable members of society commonly targeted by cyber criminals such as the elderly, people with learning disabilities, and people who have already been victims of cyber-crime.
A team of cyber security experts will deliver hands-on workshops, supported by online training and one-to-one mentoring. The students will also have the opportunity to display their skills in simulated cyber-attacks.

About The UK Cyber Security Forum
The UK Cyber Security Forum is a social enterprise representing sole traders and small & medium companies (SMEs) who are actively working in cyber security. The Forum facilitates a number of Cyber Security Clusters around the UK by working with a network of local volunteer champions. These groups organise cluster meetings and events for members in their vicinity, and work within the local community to improve cyber security understanding and awareness.
Now the UK Cyber Security Forum is setting up the Community SOC in Worcester. This location will be used as a training centre for neuro-diverse individuals in cyber security. If this model is successful it will be rolled out to other locations in the UK.
