Now in its 11th year, National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) proved again to be an excellent opportunity to promote our apprenticeship programmes and the positive impact they have on employers and learners across the UK.

The central focus from the government for 2018’s events was to promote apprenticeships under the banner: “Apprenticeships work”- a statement we wholeheartedly agree with. QA focused efforts on spreading the message about tech apprenticeships and how the skills learned on a QA tech apprenticeship help businesses across the UK to plug skills gaps, retain staff and attract new talent.

QA put together a packed agenda during the week. There was plenty for employers, candidates, potential candidates and anyone with an interest in the innovative approach to education that apprenticeships offer to get involved with.

QA teamed up with a whole host of brands including TalkTalk, Vodafone, Sopra Steria and Atos who have hundreds of apprentices right through to start ups about to take on their first apprentice. The customer stories promoted throughout the week left a lasting impression. Accounts of apprentices coming in with fresh ideas, implementing key change through to the former QA apprentice about to hire his first apprentice for his start up WeGym.

Hearing from apprentices themselves too was a big part of NAW 2018, the positive testimony which learners provided proved to be as compelling as that of the businesses which employ them.

QA hosted events at schools and colleges across the UK, took over online job boards and rounded off the week with an interactive technology focused quiz, hosted online via Kahoot.
