QA has today announced the launch of a 12-week intensive virtual training programme in Glasgow. The initiative follows a successful pilot in London, and is set to equip delegates with key, in-demand skills that will help them fast-track their career in technology.

The training programme is specifically targeted at individuals who have an interest in the tech industry, but perhaps have only ever pursued it in their spare time or in more junior-level roles. It's intended to help them reskill, fast-tracking them into more senior IT roles. Candidates do not need to have any formal IT qualifications; all they need is the aptitude to succeed, along with passion and enthusiasm for technology.

The first group comprises 12 delegates, aged between 20 and 50, who started their training virtually this week. After their 12 weeks of training, each delegate will secure a full-time job with QA, working on site with clients including the Scottish Government. Candidates are also awarded industry-recognised certifications upon the completion of their training and are given further opportunities to learn and develop.

The programme offers a unique opportunity for people to retrain or progress in their career at a particularly difficult time for the wider jobs market.

Srikanth Iyengar, Chief Client Officer at QA, says:

“I am excited and proud to be taking our career-fast-track programme to Scotland. For me it represents a win/win scenario. There is a real need for people to reskill, especially in tech, and it is becoming increasingly urgent in our current climate as businesses are under pressure to digitally innovate and reinvent themselves. On top of that we have a glut of people with a desire to get back into high-demand technology careers and learn the latest skills to do so successfully. This programme meets both of those needs.”
