QA’s first Business Administrator Level 3 apprentice successfully completes end point assessment and achieves the highest possible grade.
Focusing on adding value by driving efficiency and problem solving, business administrators are the backbone of any organisation. Owing to this, since it was approved for delivery in September 2017 the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard has proved popular with UK organisations and learners alike.
Those early to see value in the Business Administrator Level 3 (BAL3) apprenticeship are starting to see their investment pay off. A prime example of this is Sian Hall and her employer Stickyeyes (a digital agency based in Leeds and London) who sit firmly in the “early adopter” bracket.
Sian worked diligently for 13 months on QA’s BAL3 apprenticeship which teaches key business knowledge, understanding and behaviours such as, market placement, legislation, regulation, stakeholder management and more. Recently Sian became our first Business Administrator Level 3 apprentice to complete her end point assessment (EPA) and did so achieving the highest possible grade, a distinction.
An excited Sian said:
“Over the past 13 months I have learned a lot about business structures, operations and ways of working that I didn’t know before. I have found that learning the relevant knowledge has been much easier as an apprentice rather than a full-time student because it fit so easily and is relatable to the tasks you are doing as a full-time employee on a daily basis. This relation and ability to put the knowledge into practice straight away has definitely helped my own development.”
This was not just a great result for Sian and Stickyeyes but for those involved in Sian’s journey too. Dean Watson, Sian’s Skills Coach and Tutor from QA said:
"Sian had very little foundation knowledge and skills in relation to business administration before the apprenticeship so it is absolute testament to the hard work she has put in to be awarded with an overall Distinction grade for her Business Administrator qualification. I am confident that Sian is going to go on to be very successful with whatever path she takes and I’m really excited to see what’s next for her. Congratulations from all the QAA Delivery team, we’re all very proud.”
Our Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship is taught through a combination of classroom training with online learning, coaching and on-the-job experience. This enables our learners to develop real-world skills that can be applied directly to the workplace.
