Overview

The PRINCE2 Project, Programme, Portfolio Office Management guidance provides advice, supported by discussion and examples, on how to develop a delivery and governance structure that helps optimize an organization's investment in change alongside its business-as-usual work.

This Practitioner course comprises two days of trainer led instruction. It is aimed at members of offices within a PMO model or anyone who needs to understand the terminology and concepts underpinning a PMO. The course builds on foundational knowledge and provides delegates with comprehensive understanding of the PMO advice should be applied and to prepare delegates for the Practitioner Certificate examination.



Prerequisites

Delegates must hold the PRINCE2 Project, Programme, Portfolio Office foundation certificate.

Before attempting the PRINCE2 Project, Programme, Portfolio Office Management practitioner level exam, you must provide evidence that you satisfy the prerequisite of holding the foundation exam.

Acceptable forms of evidence are:

  • A copy of your examination certificate
  • Confirmed entry in the PeopleCert Successful Candidate Register. You will need to provide the full SCR number (registration/candidate number located on your certificate).

Delegates will need to upload / confirm evidence themselves when registering for their exam on the PeopleCert registration site. Without evidence of the prerequisites, you will NOT be permitted to sit the exam. For any queries on this please email prereqs@qa.com.

You will be required to bring along your own copy of the official PRINCE2 Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices manual. You may have received this on your Foundation course.

It is recommended that delegates attend this course no later than three months after the Foundation course, and that a minimum of four hours revision of the PRINCE2 Project, Programme, Portfolio Office Management manual is completed before attending.

Examination

PeopleCert exams take place remotely via PeopleCert Online Proctoring. You will be required to download and install ExamShield and conduct a compatibility test prior to sitting the exam. We strongly recommend you do not leave this until just before your exam time slot.

Exam slots are available 24/7 and learners need to be pre-book an exam time with the proctoring service. After purchase you will receive information on how to book your exams at a date and time convenient to you. Although your exam vouchers are valid for 12-months we strongly recommend you do not leave it too long after your course to sit them. If you wanted to schedule them for the same week as tuition, please note that course instruction completes at around 4.30pm on the final day of your course. Therefore, please ensure any exams are scheduled at least an hour after those times.

Once an exam slot is booked you can amend the date/time providing it’s within the voucher expiration date. Please note that if you change a booked exam slot within 48 hours of the time booked PeopleCert will charge an admin fee.

The practitioner exam consists of:

  • 4 question groups with 20 questions in each (a total of 80 multiple-choice questions – 1 mark per question)
  • 2.5 hours
  • Open book
  • Candidaates require 40 correct answers to pass
  • Candidates will be informed of their indicative result before they leave the exam platform

Exam Proof of Identification

Candidates are required to provide Photo ID with a valid signature e.g. driving license, passport or named work ID badges prior to sitting their exam. Failure to produce this ID will result in their exam results being withheld until proof of ID is provided. Please note that if proof is not provided within 40 days, candidate's exam results will be null and void and a re-sit would be required.

Reasonable Adjustments Policy

The exam provider allows additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. PeopleCert examinations are remotely proctored. Once registered by the QA exam administration team you will receive an exam registration email directly from PeopleCert. This email will contain the necessary instruction on how to schedule your exam.

  • For open book (practitioner) exams learners are permitted to use a second device to access the official course manual, the use of dual monitors is not permitted during the exam.
  • Please note: the official manual is not included in this course as it is assumed you have a copy from your foundation exam. If you do need to purchase a copy of the manual please get in touch with QA

How can I create an account on myQA.com?

There are a number of ways to create an account. If you are a self-funder, simply select the "Create account" option on the login page.

If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".

If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

How do QA’s virtual classroom courses work?

Once you have purchased the Online course and have completed your registration, you will receive the necessary details to enable you to immediately access it through our e-learning platform and you can start to learn straight away, from any compatible device. Access to the online learning platform is valid for one year from the booking date.
