Overview
Copilot for Marketing & Sales is a practical, hands-on course designed to help marketing and sales professionals unlock the transformative potential of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Through real-world use cases, such as consumer segmentation, campaign planning, image creation, and activity optimization, participants learn how to integrate Copilot into their workflows to accelerate insight generation, streamline content creation, and optimise performance. The session provides guidance on adopting a human-first approach, ethical considerations, and readiness for future AI developments, equipping learners with the mindset and skills to experiment confidently and lead Copilot-driven use for marketing & sales activities.
Prerequisites
Participants should have:
- Basic familiarity with accessing Copilot and using simple prompts.
- A foundational understanding of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- No specialist AI or technical skills are required.
Target audience
Sales and marketing professionals at all levels of seniority, with basic awareness of generative AI but unclear on how to apply it specifically in marketing and sales contexts.

Introduction of the principles that underpin the workshop, including ‘Human First, Human Last’
10;00 Use Case 1 – Consumer Segmentation
Participants follow the trainer through a simulation to identify Consumer or Customer segments within a market, using Copilot in Excel. The simulation starts with a basic use of Copilot and progresses to expert use of Copilot.
11;30 Use Case 2 – Campaign Planning
Participants follow a demonstration from the trainer, and then practice themselves, to create campaign ideas using Copilot in Word, then to build a retailer pitch presentation using Copilot in PPT, and finally to builds a sales forecast using Copilot in Excel.
14:00 Use Case 3 – Image Creation
The learners are tasked with creating mock visuals to support a potential product launch. The trainer demonstrates the approach and then learners practice applying simple and more advanced image generation prompts, using Copilot chat.
14:45 Pause & Reflect: AI Ethics & Copyright
Participants are introduced to the ethical and copyright risks of image generation, and challenged to refine their image prompts to minimise these risks.
15:15 Activity 4 – Activity Optimisation
Participants learn how to use Copilot to optimise activity ‘in real time’ The trainer demonstrates the use of Copilot in Excel for this challenge, and the pros and cons of using Copilot in Excel versus Copilot chat. Learners then practice the different approaches and use Copilot to produce recommendations and an executive summary in PPT.
16:00 Pause & Reflect: Gen AI Future Readiness
Participants are walked through the 4 phases of Generative AI adoption, and challenged to think about where they are today on the adoption curve and the actions they should take.
16:15 Copilot for my role
Participants use Copilot to help them capture and communicate what they will do, as a result of attending this training course, to more deeply embed the use of Copilot into their work
Exams and assessments
There are no formal exams or assessments in this workshop. Participants complete interactive exercises to demonstrate their understanding and practical application of Copilot in marketing and sales contexts.

- Scenario-based activities simulating end-to-end marketing and sales processes

How can I create an account on myQA.com?
There are a number of ways to create an account. If you are a self-funder, simply select the "Create account" option on the login page.
If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".
If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

How do QA’s virtual classroom courses work?
Our virtual classroom courses allow you to access award-winning classroom training, without leaving your home or office. Our learning professionals are specially trained on how to interact with remote attendees and our remote labs ensure all participants can take part in hands-on exercises wherever they are.
We use the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco. Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test meeting to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. If it doesn’t work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.
How do QA’s online courses work?
QA online courses, also commonly known as distance learning courses or elearning courses, take the form of interactive software designed for individual learning, but you will also have access to full support from our subject-matter experts for the duration of your course.
Once you have purchased the Online course and have completed your registration, you will receive the necessary details to enable you to immediately access it through our e-learning platform and you can start to learn straight away, from any compatible device. Access to the online learning platform is valid for one year from the booking date.
All courses are built around case studies and presented in an engaging format, which includes storytelling elements, video, audio and humour. Every case study is supported by sample documents and a collection of Knowledge Nuggets that provide more in-depth detail on the wider processes.
When will I receive my joining instructions?
Joining instructions for QA courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe. For course bookings made via QA but delivered by a third-party supplier, joining instructions are sent to attendees prior to the training course, but timescales vary depending on each supplier’s terms.
