Overview

Effective planning helps Copilot Champions deliver structured, impactful support that accelerates adoption. This three-hour collaborative workshop helps newly appointed Copilot Champions and super users move from learning to planning and execution.

Learners will explore how to identify user needs, prioritise support topics, and design practical engagement activities. They will consider different support formats, including drop-ins, success hours, and booked slots, before developing a four-week Champion roadmap aligned with team goals and adoption milestones.

The workshop also covers communication and engagement planning, including how to use nudge emails and videos to promote support activities and signpost users to further learning. Learners will leave with an actionable support plan that can guide their Champion activity over the following four weeks.

  • Recap of the Champion role
  • Purpose of the planning workshop
  • What success looks like
  • Transitioning from learning to planning and execution

Understanding user needs

Champions need to understand the people they are supporting before deciding what activities to deliver. This session focuses on identifying user challenges and turning those insights into practical support priorities.

  • Identifying common user challenges
  • Mapping user personas and support requirements
  • Understanding different user needs
  • Prioritising support topics
  • Connecting user needs with relevant engagement activities

Designing support sessions

Learners explore how to create practical support sessions that respond to identified user needs. The focus is on choosing an appropriate format and creating a structure that enables useful, focused engagement.

  • Choosing between drop-ins, success hours, and booked slots
  • Structuring effective support sessions
  • Facilitation tips for Champion-led sessions
  • Identifying the tools and resources available

  • Drafting a four-week support plan
  • Planning engagement activities across the four-week period
  • Aligning activities with team goals
  • Connecting support activities with adoption milestones
  • Identifying priorities and actions
  • Reviewing plans with peers
  • Refining the roadmap based on feedback

The final session gives learners an opportunity to share their plans, learn from other Champions, and identify the actions they will take after the workshop.

  • Group sharing of Champion roadmaps
  • Peer discussion and learning
  • Final tips for planning and delivering support
  • Questions and answers
  • Confirming next steps
  • Identifying follow-up support

Exams and assessments

No formal exam is specified for this workshop.

Learning is reinforced through collaborative planning activities, practical exercises, peer feedback, and the development of a four-week Champion roadmap. Learners use the workshop to create an actionable support plan that can be taken back into their organisation and refined through feedback.
