QA has set a target to raise £50,000 for our two chosen charities – Macmillan and Teens Unite and everyone in the business are determined as ever to reach the target. Whilst many of our employees were busy preparing to participate in the Tough Mudder challenge, our Directors decided to support a fundraising event of their own- a 53 mile sponsored bike ride.

So you would think that this would be a fairly straight forward challenge. But it was not. There was a definite mixture of abilities. Our CEO, William Macpherson had just come back from a trekking trip to the North Pole, so he was definitely ready! Another was relying on his Iron Man training, but that was over 7 years ago. Some of our Directors had not ridden a bike since they were a child, others didn’t even own one.

But having said all that, they all managed to turn up on the day, ready for the challenge.

They cycled through the beautiful Costwolds, but with the course not being particularly flat and climbing a total of 1000m, it definitely tested all of our Directors.

And after 53 miles, 5.5 hours of cycling, 11 pairs of aching legs, our Directors managed to complete the course and raised over £3600 for our chosen charities. A great effort for such good causes. We are getting closer to our target of £50K.
