Overview
We hear constantly of projects that are seen as failing in some way or other. HS2 is set to be seen as a failure, the Ajax AFV likewise, and many others.
This presentation explores why projects fail, and how thinking systemically helps identify and reject projects doomed to failure before a ton of money is squandered on them.
This session introduces systems thinking and the concept of complexity.
Systems thinking helps understand the complexity of a situation and avoid making the sort of simplifying assumptions that lead to underestimating the challenges. It then illustrates this with a successful project based on thinking systemically.
