Cyber Boot Camp gets Atos cyber analysts up and running

Atos needed cyber security skills – fast. We created a Security Operation Centre Boot Camp – to develop their tech employees’ cyber know-how.

Atos

Deploy cyber skills. Now.

Atos needed to up their cyber security skills. They wanted to re-train their existing tech employees as highly-skilled Security Operation Centre (SOC) Analysts.

So, we created a SOC Boot Camp – tailored for Atos. It covered tonnes of new cyber security skills that their team would need.

It meant Atos were able to quickly develop and deploy essential cyber security skills – by training their existing IT technical employees (rather than hunting for niche skills in the job market).

What was the boot camp like?

QA’s SOC Boot Camp programme has had a significant impact in developing our new cyber security staff and closing the skill gap. There is a critical shortage of cyber security specialists in the industry, and this programme has allowed us to meet this challenge head-on.

The SOC Boot Camp was built on our tried-and-tested cyber specialist curriculum, authored by QA.

We designed it so they could develop their skills to respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities – with the specific role of SOC Analyst in mind. To top it off, the skills they developed are recognised by the IISP skills framework.

The boot camp helped them improve operational security. By developing skills in the right areas, like:

  • Incident Response and Management
  • Intrusion Analysis
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Penetration Testing
  • Security Information Event Management (SIEM)
  • Information Security and Risk Management
  • Security Testing

Hands-on learning experience – in our cyber lab

We know practical learning is just as important as the theory.

So learners entered our Cyber Lab – where they could fight cyber threats – in a safe environment. They practiced using security tools and techniques. And were supported and guided by our expert cyber security tutors – making sure everyone got the most out of this unique learning experience.

Learners returned to work with new skills – and the Cyber Lab made them know how to immediately put it into practice.

Phil Aitchison, Director of Cyber Security at Atos says:
