PRINCE2 Foundation

The Foundation level is the first step to getting a PRINCE2 qualification and is the logical first step for anyone who has no prior knowledge of PRINCE2 or project management qualifications.

There are no pre-requisites for taking this course. This level is suitable for all levels of professionals and will focus on the theoretical knowledge of how to plan, manage and deliver projects. The foundation certificate is a prerequisite for the Practitioner certification.

PRINCE2® Practitioner

The practitioner level extends on the knowledge from the foundation level and focuses on applying and tailoring the PRINCE2 method to a range of different project environments and scenarios.

PRINCE2® Agile Foundation and Practitioner

The PRINCE2 Agile method provides the knowledge needed to be able to blend agile ways of working within the defined governance structure of PRINCE2.

The foundation level provides the fundamentals to help deliver agile projects by tailoring PRINCE2 management controls with a broad toolset of agile delivery techniques and frameworks, including SCRUM, Kanban and Lean Start-Up.

The Practitioner level extends the foundation knowledge and applies it to the workplace. you must hold PRINCE2 Agile Foundation or any PRINCE2 certification before attempting this level.

PRINCE2® allows organisations to demonstrate project standards through an internationally recognised certification, and to bid for  corporate tenders demanding project management qualifications.

For the individual, PRINCE2® qualifications will improve your project management skills and demonstrate your expertise to employers and prospective employers.

The PRINCE2® exam format of multi-choice questions is also popular with those who prefer it to an essay-based approach.

PRINCE2 is based on seven key principles that underpin its approach to project management. These principles include:

• Continued business justification: projects should have a valid and compelling reason for existence and this justification should be reviewed throughout the project.
• Learn from experience: PRINCE2 encourages organisations to learn from past projects and apply these lessons to current and future endeavours.
• Defined roles and responsibilities: clear roles and responsibilities are assigned to individuals within the project team, ensuring accountability and effective decision making.
• Manage by stages: projects are divided into manageable stages, allowing for better control and flexibility in adapting to changes.
• Manage by exception: project managers are authorised to act on behalf of project stakeholders, but they should only escalate issues to higher management when they exceed predefined tolerances.
• Focus on products: PRINCE2 emphasises defining and delivering products that meet the project's objectives.
• Tailor to suit the project: the framework can be tailored to fit the specific needs and characteristics of each project.

Methodology and Processes:

PRINCE2 provides a structured approach to project management through its defined processes. These processes include starting, initiating, directing, controlling, managing product delivery, managing stage boundaries, and closing the project. Each process has a specific purpose and set of activities to ensure that the project progresses smoothly from initiation to completion.

PRINCE2 qualifications are widely recognised and respected in the project management field.

They are considered equivalent to other well-known project management certifications like the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification for agile project management.

All (Foundation and Practitioner) PeopleCert Global Best Practice certifications will need to be renewed after 3 years.

2. Take an exam in same product suite.
3. Collecting and logging CPD points via the MyAxelos platform.
