Overview

Programme structure

12 months duration including access to our online learning platform.

  • A wide range of skills relevant to the job role, whether supporting office tools, finance systems, or web systems.
  • Hands-on experience setting up software and systems, and providing ongoing support. 
  • A focus on industry-specific needs, ensuring learners acquire knowledge directly applicable to their work environment.

Entry requirements

There are no set entry requirements for learners.

The only thing to bear in mind is that your job role must fit your chosen apprenticeship qualification, allowing you to complete the relevant units. QA will undertake a role-matching exercise to help you.

Learner journey

You'll have a whole team behind you to help you get the most out of your apprenticeship, including:

  • Your line manager
  • A skills assessor
  • A safeguarding specialist
  • A learning support specialist

In addition the course learning is supported by our AI Learning Assistant ELA so you can self test, practise, and ask questions as you study.

Allow 2-4 working hours per week to complete digital learning activities. Over the course of the programme, there are a total of 14 virtual workshop training days.

  • PC passport
  • Troubleshooting in action
  • Microsoft Azure fundamentals
  • AZ-900 exam
  • Data Modelling and SQL

Workplace units

  • Using collaborative technologies
  • Bespoke software
  • Investigating and defining customer requirements in IT and telecoms systems
  • Setting up an IT system

Plus many more options that can be discussed with your account manager/skills assessor.

This programme is suitable for multiple roles, such as:

  • First line support
  • Helpdesk administration
  • IT support
  • IT technician
  • IT administrator

Progression pathway

Holders of the Diploma in Digital Application Support SCQF Level 6 can progress to the SCQF Level 8  Digital Technology programme as the job role evolves, or to:

  • BA (Hons)Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS)
  • BA (Hons) Project Management with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS)
