Programme structure

12-14 months duration including access to our online learning platform.

Apprentices follow QA’s unique methodology – Design, Practise, Apply – the revolutionary blended learning solution which sets us apart from other providers.

Entry requirements

  • Qualifications at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent
  • Good numeracy skills

Learner journey

You'll have a whole team behind you to help you get the most out of your apprenticeship, including:

  • Your line manager
  • A skills assessor
  • A safeguarding specialist
  • A learning support specialist

In addition the course learning is supported by our AI Learning Assistant ELA so you can self test, practise, and ask questions as you study.

Allow 2-4 working hours per week to complete digital learning activities. Over the course of the programme, there are a total of 14 virtual workshop training days, typically held in 2-3 day training blocks.

  • Supporting digital business transformation

  • Developing meta skills and personal professionalism

Mandatory units

  • Contributing to cyber security risk assessment and risk management
  • Contributing to intrusion detection activities
  • Providing incident management and response
  • Supporting security audit and compliance checking

  • Contributing to scoping and implementing security testing
  • Maintaining security operations
  • Performing digital forensic analysis

Progression pathway

Holders of the Diploma in Digital Technology: Cyber Security SCQF Level 8 can progress to Year 3 BSc (Hons) Data, AI & Software Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
