Overview

This enhanced five-day course provides a comprehensive and highly interactive introduction to the PRINCE2 Risk Management: Creating and Protecting Value (PRINCE2 Risk Management framework). The programme begins with a foundation-style introduction to the language of risk management before progressing into scenario-driven application of the methodology. Learners explore how to apply risk management across strategic, portfolio, programme, project, product, and operational contexts. The course integrates workshops, discussion-based activities, and practical exercises to build confidence in real-world application. PRINCE2 Risk Management aligns with ISO standards and supports informed decision making by improving the identification, assessment, and control of risks across all organisational levels.

Please note that this course was formerly called M_O_R 4 and although foundational-level content is covered, there is no foundation-level qualification/exam associated with this enhanced practitioner level course.



Prerequisites

There are no mandatory prerequisites for this course. However, the following would be beneficial:

  • An interest in organisational risk management and its application across delivery and operational environments.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance or project, programme / portfolio / change environments.
  • A willingness to undertake evening consolidation activities, including reading and practice examination questions.

Hands-on Learning

This enhanced course offers extensive practical learning through workshops, interactive questioning, breakout exercises, and scenario-based application. Learners explore the PRINCE2 Risk Management tools and processes in depth, working collaboratively to apply the framework in realistic organisational situations. Evening consolidation activities support reinforcement of key concepts and exam preparation.

Examination

PeopleCert exams take place remotely via PeopleCert Online Proctoring. You will be required to download and install ExamShield and conduct a compatibility test prior to sitting the exam. We strongly recommend you do not leave this until just before your exam time slot.

Exam slots are available 24/7 and learners need to be pre-book an exam time with the proctoring service. After purchase you will receive information on how to book your exams at a date and time convenient to you. Although your exam vouchers are valid for 12-months we strongly recommend you do not leave it too long after your course to sit them. If you wanted to schedule them for the same week as tuition, please note that foundation course instruction completes at around 4.30pm on the final day of your course. Therefore, please ensure any exams are scheduled at least an hour after those times.

Once an exam slot is booked you can amend the date/time providing it’s within the voucher expiration date. Please note that if you change a booked exam slot within 48 hours of the time booked PeopleCert will charge an admin fee.

The exam format includes:

  • 2-hour 15-minute exam
  • Open book (PRINCE2 Risk Management guide only)
  • 65 multiple-choice questions (1 mark per question)
  • Pass mark is 33 out of 65

Learners take part in guided discussions, practice questions, and exam-style activities to consolidate knowledge and strengthen exam readiness.

Exam Proof of Identification

PeopleCert require that candidates provide Photo ID with a valid signature e.g. driving license, passport or named work ID badges prior to sitting their exam. Failure to produce this ID will result in their exam results being withheld until proof of ID is provided. Please note that if proof is not provided within 40 days, candidate's exam results will be null and void and a re-sit would be required

Reasonable Adjustments Policy

The exam provider allows additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. Delegates failing to advise QA and provide evidence when requested, may not be allowed the additional support offered via the policy. Good to know

  • PeopleCert examinations are remotely proctored. Once registered by the QA exam administration team you will receive an exam registration email directly from PeopleCert. This email will contain the necessary instruction on how to schedule your exam.
  • An official course manual will be provided as an eBook resource for learners undertaking this course to support their learning. Instructions on how to access the eBook will be provided with the course joining instructions.
  • For open book (practitioner) exams learners are permitted to use a second device to access the official course manual, the use of dual monitors is not permitted during the exam.

How can I create an account on myQA.com?

There are a number of ways to create an account. If you are a self-funder, simply select the "Create account" option on the login page.

If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".

If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

How do QA’s virtual classroom courses work?

Our virtual classroom courses allow you to access award-winning classroom training, without leaving your home or office. Our learning professionals are specially trained on how to interact with remote attendees and our remote labs ensure all participants can take part in hands-on exercises wherever they are.

We use the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco. Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test meeting to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. If it doesn’t work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.

How do QA’s online courses work?

QA online courses, also commonly known as distance learning courses or elearning courses, take the form of interactive software designed for individual learning, but you will also have access to full support from our subject-matter experts for the duration of your course. When you book a QA online learning course you will receive immediate access to it through our e-learning platform and you can start to learn straight away, from any compatible device. Access to the online learning platform is valid for one year from the booking date.

All courses are built around case studies and presented in an engaging format, which includes storytelling elements, video, audio and humour. Every case study is supported by sample documents and a collection of Knowledge Nuggets that provide more in-depth detail on the wider processes.

When will I receive my joining instructions?

Joining instructions for QA courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe. For course bookings made via QA but delivered by a third-party supplier, joining instructions are sent to attendees prior to the training course, but timescales vary depending on each supplier’s terms.
