MSP is the go-to certification and guidance for programme managers, business change managers and the next step for project managers to develop their knowledge and skills to be able to positively respond to the challenges they face when managing programmes and larger, more strategic or multiple projects.
This course is accredited by PeopleCert and includes the Managing Successful Programmes Foundation and Practitioner examinations.
In this Blended Learning course, learners will have access to both digital and live learning to provide the best possible preparation to pass the MSP Foundation and Practitioner examinations. This includes the official MSP manual and Self-Paced Learning designed around the MSP syllabus, including sample exam questions, quizzes, and a combination of video and written content.
The 3-day virtual Live Event focuses on deepening learners’ understanding of the key topics and feedback sessions on exam craft, specifically tailored to MSP exam-style questions. Day 1 of the Live event will focus on the Foundation content and conclude with the Foundation exam. Days 2 and 3 will delve deeper into the Practitioner-level content, focusing on how to apply the principles explored at Foundation as well as covering Practitioner exam techniques to enable learners to confidently progress on to the Practitioner exam.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for taking the MSP 5th edition Foundation exam. However, to take the MSP 5th edition Practitioner exam, candidates are required to have an MSP 5th edition Foundation certificate which is included in this blended course.

- MSP Processes – Identify the Programme, design the Outcomes, Plan Progressive Delivery, Deliver the Capabilities, Embed the Outcomes, Evaluate New Information, Close the Programme
Delivery Method
This Blended Learning course consists of two key parts and two exams.

Self-paced learning
The self-paced learning is valid for 12 months from the start date and is estimated to take 20 hours. It is recommended that learners allow a 4-week period to complete this before joining the instructor-led element of the programme. In addition to covering the MSP foundation syllabus through a combination of video and written content the self-paced learning includes quizzes, exam hints and tips and sample exam questions.
Instructor-Led live event
Please note, it is critical that you have completed the self-paced learning before joining a live event. During live events learners will work individually and in teams to consolidate the MSP Foundation and Practitioner theory through practical, exam-focused activities. The facilitator will use Miro to create a digital workspace environment, enabling a collaborative and interactive learning experience.
For the live event please ensure you have a device such as a mobile phone, tablet or laptop to be able to load your course material on to as you may need this for use in the evenings in addition to during the day.

Foundation exam from 16.30 (assuming you have pre-booked an exam slot)
Day 2: Practitioner focus

Day 3: continued Practitioner focus

Exams and Assessments
The exams take place remotely via PeopleCert Online Proctoring. Exam slots are available 24/7 and learners need to be pre-book an exam time with the proctoring service. After purchase you will receive instructions on how to do this and exam vouchers to redeem for booking. Once an exam slot is booked you can amend the date/time providing it’s within the voucher expiration date. Please note that if you change a booked exam slot within 48 hours of the time booked PeopleCert will charge an admin fee.
You will be required to download and install ExamShield and conduct a compatibility test prior to sitting the exam. We strongly recommend you do not leave this until just before your exam time slot.
Foundation exam:
On the live event day 1 learning will continue until approximately 4.00pm to enable you to take the foundation exam from 4.30pm onwards should you wish to do so. Some learners prefer a short break after the course has concluded to revise the content, however, we recommend that you don’t leave it too long. Please note that the foundation exam must be passed before you can attempt the practitioner exam. You may, however, progress to practitioner level learning without having passed the foundation exam should you choose to do so.

Practitioner exam:
We recommend you do not leave a long time gap between completing the live event and taking the practitioner exam. As stated above, you must pass the foundation exam before you sit the practitioner exam and if you amend an exam slot booking within 48 hours of the booked time PeopleCert will charge an exam fee.
Practitioner exam details:
- 2 hour 30 minute exam
- 70 questions
- Open book
- The official manual may be annotated and tabulated, but no sticky notes or loose-leaf papers containing additional notes will be allowed.
- For PeopleCert open book exams learners are permitted to use a second device to access the official course manual, however, the use of dual monitors is not permitted during the exam.

The exam provider (PeopleCert) allows additional time for candidates who have a disability, short or long-term condition, such as dyslexia and severe visual impairment. How can I create an account on myQA.com?
There are a number of ways to create an account. If you are a self-funder, simply select the "Create account" option on the login page.
If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".
If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

How do QA’s virtual classroom courses work?
Our virtual classroom courses allow you to access award-winning classroom training, without leaving your home or office. Our learning professionals are specially trained on how to interact with remote attendees and our remote labs ensure all participants can take part in hands-on exercises wherever they are.
We use the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco. Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test meeting to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. If it doesn’t work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.
How do QA’s online courses work?
QA online courses, also commonly known as distance learning courses or elearning courses, take the form of interactive software designed for individual learning, but you will also have access to full support from our subject-matter experts for the duration of your course. When you book a QA online learning course you will receive immediate access to it through our e-learning platform and you can start to learn straight away, from any compatible device. Access to the online learning platform is valid for one year from the booking date.
All courses are built around case studies and presented in an engaging format, which includes storytelling elements, video, audio and humour. Every case study is supported by sample documents and a collection of Knowledge Nuggets that provide more in-depth detail on the wider processes.
When will I receive my joining instructions?
Joining instructions for QA courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe. For course bookings made via QA but delivered by a third-party supplier, joining instructions are sent to attendees prior to the training course, but timescales vary depending on each supplier’s terms.
