Hands-on Learning

Google class this is a Technical course which includes lecture and labs for technical audiences. It is designed for up to 12 learners.

The course is delivered through a series of practical labs and guided exercises, allowing participants to apply concepts in real-world scenarios. Each module includes hands-on activities such as deploying container images to Cloud Run, packaging applications, implementing new versions, and managing gradual traffic migration.

Learners will use client libraries to interact with Google Cloud services, configure access controls and filters, and connect applications with managed databases.

Labs cover using Cloud CDN and path-based routing, implementing secure service-to-service communication, and modelling workflows with Cloud Workflows.

The course emphasises experiential learning, with step-by-step guidance from instructors and opportunities for collaborative problem-solving.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will learn how to:

  • Gain detailed understanding of Cloud Run, Google Cloud’s fully managed compute platform for deploying and scaling containerised applications quickly and securely
  • Write and migrate code using preferred languages such as Go, Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js, and more
  • Secure service-to-service communication based on service identities and grant applications only the permissions they need
  • Build highly available applications with low end-user latency, globally
  • Connect to, and persist data in, managed database offerings on Google Cloud
  • Understand how abstracting away all infrastructure management creates a simple developer experience
