We have exciting plans to grow the range of support we offer to help people overcome the barriers to cycling. To do this, we need to engage more people from diverse communities and reach beyond our current networks. As such, we’re looking for an Apprentice to join us for 15-months who can help upgrade our tech, our website and the way we communicate with the public.

Main role / Responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to]:

Life Cycle UK runs a wide range of projects – from bike refurbishment, cycle training and cycle parking, to tandem rides, youth work and professional training – in a growing number of locations.

Your role will be to work with the Data & Systems Lead and Marketing Lead to:

  • Supportr a re-design of the charity’s public facing website. You will help put the needs of the user first. Better share our charitable impact with the public. Increase public donations and cross-bookings across our various services. This will involve a mix of: design work, updating back-end configuration, content creation, troubleshooting changes and implementing fixes.
  • Support on web analytics and metrics for the website, reporting finding and recommendations for changes to the Data & Systems Lead.
  • Support small, incremental improvements, updates and daily fixes to our website/CRM (approved by the Data & Systems Lead) in response to analytics and user feedback.
  • Work with the Marketing Lead to design and implement campaigns across a variety of digital media platforms (Website, Email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, GoogleAds etc.)
  • Respond to public enquiries using online and social media platforms
  • Report to the Marketing Lead on analytics and success rates of campaigns: with a particular interest in return on investment for Pay Per Click.

You will have a pro-active approach and an enquiring mind. You don’t need to bring all the answers and expertise immediately: just a firm commitment to testing, learning and continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills (Example of skills: Communication, Customer services skills etc.):

  • Computer literate
  • Strong interest in tech
  • Regular user of social media

Personal Qualities:

Whilst being a keen cyclist is a bonus, it is not essential. Instead we want someone with a creative outlook, fresh ideas and positive attitude, who is keen to learn new skills and work flexibly across a small and friendly team.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs total
    • English and Maths GCSE grade D or above
    • 3x GCSEs grade A-C in any subject

Working week: 37.5 hours per week, at times as agreed with your Line Manager, but typically over 5 days per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm

Salary: £14,500 Per Annum

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks.
