Services (IT&S), provides a full range of IT services to BP's global

IT&S plays a critical role in the delivery of defined world-class

operational services that BP businesses can rely upon in support of

their own performance. Our specific accountabilities include the delivery

of services to specified target levels, including availability, recoverability

and cost to the corporation. These services must also be delivered

safely and secured against the growing risk of viruses and other

security threats.

Job Description:

As part of our fast-paced Information Technology & Services (IT&S) team, you’ll learn to work on the software that makes us world-class.

BP is one of the three largest energy companies in the world, operating in over 70 countries across 6 continents. There’s a wide range of distinct BP businesses, and you’ll be using leading edge technology to help us deliver the services they rely on.

This Level 4 apprenticeship will give you valuable Software Development Training (.NET) at QA’s training facility.

* DevOps apprentice in the Compliance & Operational Excellence (C&OE) Compliance Workbench application

* Working in an agile methodology

* Covering a wide variety of activities within the software development lifecycle, with the option to specialise or focus on a particular aspect

* Writing and testing code (C#/ .NET)

* Working with global stakeholders to deliver a number of significant product increments for Compliance Workbench throughout the duration of the apprenticeship

Desirable Skills & Personal Qualities:



* Experience working in an office environment

* Delivering good quality object-oriented code and working functionality

* Experience working on integrated analysis development activities

* Completed a level 3 Software Development Technician apprenticeship or relevant work experience


* Experience working in an agile environment

* Experience following the DevOps culture and practice

* Experience working with a global team



* Good time management skills

* Effective communication skills

* Collaborative approach to work (supporting the BP one-team values)

* Microsoft Office skills

* Logical clear thinking and troubleshooting

* Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and roles

* Ability to self-start on work items assigned to them

* C# / .NET / WPF



* User Experience design

* Amazon Web Services (or similar) Cloud platforms

* Team Foundation Server with Visual Studio

Entry Requirements:

GCSEs in Maths & Englsih Language A*-C

Level 3 Software Developer Apprentieship with QA or other training provider.

Working Week:

Monday - Friday 9am-5.30pm

37.5 hours
