About this course

Course code TPD87165GC10
Duration 5 Days

The course teaches students how to create more complex process models to meet their business needs through the use of different types of events, including message, signal, and timer events. Students will learn to manage synchronous and asynchronous communication between processes and subprocesses, peer processes, and other services. They will also write scripts using XPath, XSLT, and Groovy, and will learn how to use the debugger to follow the route of a token through the process. In addition, the course covers exception handling including the use of event subprocesses and "skip" and "back" actions. Students will also learn how to customize the UI with or without ADF, including advanced web form rules, and gain experience in using the human workflow and BPM APIs.Benefits to youThis course teaches the process developer how to implement a BPM process model using advanced features of OBPM. It builds on the techniques introduced in the course Oracle BPM 12c: Essentials, and use the same case study, a loan application, for many of its practices.Live Virtual Class FormatA Live Virtual Class (LVC) is exclusively for registered students; unregistered individuals may not view an LVC at any time. Registered students must view the class from the country listed in the registration form. Unauthorized recording, copying, or transmission of LVC content may not be made.

Delegates will learn how to

  • Use the Process Composer interface to create dynamic web forms that use web form rules
  • Create complex expressions for data mapping using XPath, XSLT, and Groovy, and determine which scripting language is best suited to a particular requirement
  • Create and test complex business rules that use decision tables and verbal rules
  • Use a REST service in the process
  • Define complex approval flows using the SOA human workflow editor and business rules
  • Send and receive messages of various types to/from another process, subprocess, or peer process
  • Use an event subprocess to handle errors at the process level
  • Use skip and back to enable the token to return to a parent process at a particular point after an error has been caught
  • Use a Notification activity to send an email from a process
  • Create an ADF task flow for more complex user interaction with human tasks
  • Customize the BPM Workspace with new logo, title, and skin
  • Use the human workflow API to list current active instances
  • Use the Debugger to track the path of the token through the process
