Our Infrastructure Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship combines online learning, classroom training and on-the-job experience to develop real world skills using innovative technology. Whether you are just starting your tech journey or you want to brush up on skills in a current role, perhaps you even want to change roles completely and make the leap into tech - this is the programme for you.

This apprenticeship opens up opportunities to develop and enhance your digital skills, ensuring you have the grounding needed to become a skilled PC professional, data defender or cloud controller.

On successful completion of the programme, you will gain the following qualifications:

  • Infrastructure Technician Level 3
  • MTA Networking Fundamentals
  • MTA Mobility and Devices Fundamentals
  • MTA Cloud Fundamentals
  • Choice of one Microsoft MOC on Demand course

Prerequisites

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grades D or above
  • You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

What will you learn?

On this programme, you will learn technical skills including:

  • Managing cloud services
  • Integrating mobile devices
  • Developing your knowledge of coding and logic
  • Understanding business processes (including Helpdesk systems)

This will help to equip you with the skills essential to take on job roles such as Desktop Support Engineer, First and Second Line Helpdesk Support and Technical Support Analyst.

Outline

During the programme you’ll be required to spend 20% of your time at work on off-the-job learning.

Our programme helps you easily fit your learning around your day job with access to our online learning platform – learning can be accessed anytime, anywhere and on any device so you get high-quality content on the go.

You will complete:

  1. Five knowledge modules introducing tech theory and fundamentals, through a combination of online learning and practical classroom workshops.
  2. A work-based portfolio showcasing how you’ve demonstrated the skills you’ve learnt in real work projects.
  3. An end-point assessment in the last 2-3 months of the programme – consisting of a synoptic project undertaken in the classroom and an assessment interview.

The modules included in this programme are:

  • Module 1: Induction, and Networking and Architecture
  • Module 2: Mobile and Operating Systems
  • Module 3: Cloud Services
  • Module 4: Business Processes
  • Module 5: Coding and Logic

There is also the opportunity for an optional week, dedicated to revision and resits if you need it.
