Outline

Module 1: HPN FlexNetwork Architecture

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Explain the strategy of controlled versus autonomous AP deployment
  • Describe the components of a FlexNetworking architecture
  • Configure the initial setup steps of a HP 830 Unified Wired-WLAN switch


Module 2: Wireless Features and Fundamentals

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe the 802.11 standards and techniques used to propagate wireless transmissions.
  • Understand and explain the deployment options and terms surrounding wireless LANs.
  • Describe the different modes in which WLANs can operate.


Module 3: HP Mobility Features and WLAN Security Basics

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe specific radio properties that you should understand when implementing a wireless network.
  • Respond to and mitigate threats of intrusion that exists in a wireless medium through establishing a security posture with strong authentication, privacy, and data integrity.
  • Provide an overview and describe the main features of HP mobility.


Module 4: Basic Configuration

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Understand and demonstrate the fundamentals of using the HP Unified Wired-WLAN CLI
  • Utilize the different privilege levels and authentication methods available with HP Unified Wired-WLAN devices
  • Establishing remote access to the HP Unified Wired-WLAN device
  • Upgrade and manage the licenses of the HP Unified Wired-WLAN controllers
  • Configure and troubleshoot management interfaces
  • View system files and establish system management practices
  • Configure VLANs and IP interfaces
  • Describe and troubleshoot the AP discovery process and AP management


Module 5: Wireless Services

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe the components of a Wireless Service
  • Recognize, respond to and mitigate wireless threats
  • Understand the options available to clients when connecting to a wireless service


Module 6: Enterprise Implementation

After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe the requirements to enable roaming across the WLAN
  • Implement load balancing of clients
  • Configure an appropriate AC redundancy solution
  • Establish a guest solution utilizing HP portal authentication
  • Describe WLAN optimization and troubleshooting solutions.
  • Explain the benefits of WSM and EAD as part of an overall IMC deployment tool.
