This talk describes the use of Bloom filter use in Oracle databases. It describes the problems solved by bloom filters, the creation and use of the filters and how to interpret an execution plan when Bloom filters are used. It also discusses the use of smart joins using Bloom filters in Exadata environments and Bloom filter partition pruning.
