Project and Programme Management training from QA

Step by step guide to PRINCE2® certification

PRINCE2® is the most widely used project management framework in the UK, across all major industries. This explains how to get this valuable certification.

The PRINCE2® certification path has two steps: PRINCE2 Foundation followed by PRINCE2 Practitioner.

PRINCE2

PRINCE2 Foundation

PRINCE2 Foundation training is an introduction to PRINCE2 training and covers the PRINCE2 methodology, terminology and processes.  This is either an instructor led training course or self paced eLearning.  At the end of this training you sit the Foundation exam, which is a one-hour, multiple choice test.

Successfully passing this leads to PRINCE2 Foundation certification.

PRINCE2

PRINCE2 Practitioner

PRINCE2 Practitioner training is the final step and it covers the practical application of PRINCE2 in projects, including dealing with project issues.  This is either an instructor led training course or again can be done as self paced eLearning.  At the end of this training you sit the Practitioner exam, which lasts for 2.5 hours, and is an objective-testing multiple-choice exam.

Successfully passing this leads to PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.

PRINCE2

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner

To gain PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner together we run 5 day training courses, essentially the separate PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner training courses running back to back, allowing rapid progression straight to Practitioner certification.

The PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner training courses are challenging but can be passed easily enough with the right training and guidance.  Training includes pre-reading so best use is made of time on the course itself.

On achievement of PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification you can be listed on the official register of PRINCE2 Practitioners, run by the APM Group, which shows you have the skills and knowledge for applying PRINCE2 best practice to project management.
