During this Two-day course delegates will build on the knowledge established at the foundation level. Understanding the links and relationships between the Principles, Approach, Process, and Embedding & Reviewing M_o_R which form the core concepts of M_o_R.

Throughout the course, our M_o_R experts help delegates understand how to put into practice the theory of M_o_R at each of the different perspectives.

Prior to the course delegates will receive QA's pre course reading to help them prepare adequately. Delegate need to bring with them their core text book 'Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners' which they will have used at foundation level. The course concludes with the M_o_R Practitioner examination.

Prerequisites

Delegates must have passed the M_o_R foundation exam prior to taking the M_o_R practitioner exam.

Essential Prerequisites

Proof of prerequisites MUST be produced on the day of the exam to the trainer.

Acceptable forms of prerequisite confirmation are as follows:

  • A copy of the candidates examination certificate
  • Confirmed entry in the AXELOS Successful Candidate Register. You will need to provide the full SCR number (registration/candidate number located on your certificate).

Delegates without evidence of the prerequisites will NOT be permitted to sit the exam. For any queries on this please email prereqs@qa.com

Delegates whose pre-requisite was taken with BCS simply need to inform QA of this information prior to the exam event. Evidence will not need to be provided on the day of the exam.

Pre-Course Reading

Delegates will be provided with QA's pre-course reading prior to attending the course to help them prepare for the course. The pre-course reading is expected to take approximately 10 hours to complete. The success on the course will be enhanced by close attention to the pre-reading material.

BCS Reasonable Adjustments

BCS allow additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. Full details are provided in the BCS Reasonable Adjustments Policy which is available to view on the BCS website. If you believe you qualify for this then please notify the Exam Administration team on the details below as early as possible. At least two weeks' notice will be required for processing this request. Delegates failing to advise QA and provide evidence when requested, may not be allowed the additional support offered via the BCS policy. Outline

The M_o_R Practitioner course includes a number of hands on exercises to ensure that the theory is embedded and delegates feel confident in the practical application of M_o_R. Additional evening work will be required in the form of consolidation reading and mock examination questions. The evening work is an integral part of the course and delegates should expect to spend approximately two hours on the activities.

The course will cover the following areas:

Introduction to M_o_R Practitioner Examination

Delegates are introduced to the structure and syllabus content of the Practitioner exam. Style of questions and advice on how to manage time during the exam.

Review of M_o_R framework

Reviewing and recapping all areas of the M_o_R framework covered at foundation level. Building on delegates existing knowledge to understand the linkages and relationships between the Principles, Approach, Process and Embedding and Reviewing M_o_R.

Preparing for the practitioner exam

Using a sample exam paper and scenario delegates can practice exam questions and timings in preparation for the live exam. The M_o_R expert will encourage discussions not only around the correct answers but why something is not correct to build on the understanding of the methodology.

M_o_R Practitioner Examination

Key exam information:

  • 3 hour long
  • Open book
  • 4 Questions (1 for each perspective)
  • Each question has 20 individual questions giving 80 questions in total
  • 50% pass mark

Throughout the M_o_R Practitioner course, delegates will be exposed to numerous examples of examination questions. We will undertake a number of exercises and 'question-and-answer' sessions that will help to consolidate the learning, thereby ensuring that delegates are more than adequately prepared for the final examination.
