Tech Type Specialist

The goal of this course is to provide you with not only the knowledge and skills to use the tools of Microsoft SharePoint 2010, but to create a 'Real-World scenario' in which these tools will be applied to training and support roles within an organisation.

You will be given a SharePoint experience that is suitable for representing a SharePoint learning environment and learn how to use SharePoint productively and in a way you can apply the skills to support others. You will be able to relate your experiences of SharePoint to your work and create solutions that can provide a learning environment with an organisation.

The course emphasises instructor-led delivery with hands-on experience. On the afternoon of day 5 you will be required to build your own site to support a learning environment.

Target Audience:

This course is ideal for you if you are seeking to learn SharePoint from the ground up ready to take into a supporting role where you will lead or 'champion' a group of users whether this is to deliver training or to provide assistance such as telephone support or floor walking.


  • No prior SharePoint experience or knowledge is required.
  • A good understanding of Windows.
  • Experience using Internet Explorer 7/8 or equivalent browser.
  • Experience with relational databases, web design and/or programming (such as VBA) are useful but not essential.
  • A good knowledge of Office 2010 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
