Tutor Support

Programme outline

A digital tutor-supported programme over 5 weeks comprising a blend of live online sessions, self-paced activities and project work. This comprises scheduled weekly live online sessions and self-paced tasks. Delegates need to allow 4-5 hours of study per week and to attend all tutor-led online sessions. An individual system check will be carried out with each delegate to ensure ability to access WebEx for the live online sessions and the course website.

  • Week 1 – Tutor-led online session: ‘The Changing Shape of Learning’ (1 hour) and self-paced activities including contributing to an online forum, using a wiki and project work
  • Week 2 – Tutor-led online session: ‘The Logical Approach’ (1 hour) and self-paced activities including a research task, case study and project work
  • Week 3 – Tutor-led online session: ‘Four Training Strategies’ (1 hour) and self-paced activities including an online quiz, forum and project work
  • Week 4 – Tutor-led online session: ‘Implementation Challenges and Tips’ (1 hour) and self-paced activities including an online quiz and project work
  • Week 5 – Reflect on the completed proposal, submit to a course tutor and participate in the ‘Wrap up and feedback’ session (45 minutes). Celebrate success with the group and tutor!

  • Matching the appropriate training strategies to the learning requirement and audience characteristics
  • Understanding the five stages of the learning process
  • Determining the appropriate blend of learning methods to meet the learning requirement
  • Matching the appropriate media options to ensure the blended solution is efficient
