The world needs good leaders. Whether globally or locally, in a family or business arena, we need leaders to establish and cultivate a sense of common purpose so that all individuals in the community we lead have a shared understanding of the desired direction.
Leaders inspire and motivate others, creating potential for action and change by removing barriers clearing the way intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Leaders develop through experience but they can accelerate their readiness to lead through intelligent preparation. Leadership is a complex set of attitudes, behaviours and competencies, all of which take time to develop.
Leadership is a choice and its development is a lifelong journey that challenges us and demands commitment to grow holistically - in head (knowing), heart (being) and hands (doing) to ensure success. This programme is about that leadership journey of growth and is based on these three realms.
This degree level qualification will particularly suit potential and practicing senior managers as well as leaders who wish to explore their own leadership approach.
There are three mandatory modules to your certificate: 'Leading Self', 'Leading Others' and 'Leading Organisations'. Each module takes two days to complete. There is also a coaching and support session which gives you an opportunity to talk about how you are embedding your learning and for you to ask for further guidance.
The assignment, Managing Own Continuous Professional Development, enables you to take personal responsibility for your own leadership development. In addition to the programme workbooks, you will need to keep a personal development plan that is reviewed and evaluated regularly. You need to complete the whole of the programme to be able to complete the assignment.
