Two weeks split over 1-2 months plus one day for exam for those who have successfully completed NEBOSH Management of Health and Safety (NGC1) in the last 5 years.

The course provides the essential knowledge required to enable people to take an active part in the management of health and safety in their workplace and to integrate risk management into daily operations and monitor it effectively. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is highly regarded in the construction industry and supported by the construction industry Sector Skills Council (SSC) Construction Skills. It demonstrates competence for staff - a key benefit for employers looking to meet recognised standards.

This Certificate is for delegates who have successfully completed the NEBOSH General Certificate in the last 5 years. If you need to complete unit 1 the Management of Health and Safety NGC1 of the National General Certificate contact a supplier course advisor.

Prerequisites

Who is this for?

This course has been designed for Supervisors, Managers, Safety Representatives and personnel who have responsibility for routine, day to day advice on health, safety and welfare in the construction industry.

Delegates will learn how to

  • Understand the main requirements and application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
  • Understand the factors to consider when carrying out a site assessment; identify construction activity hazards, assess the risks and recommend control measures.
  • Identify the hazards and outline appropriate control measures in the following areas: movement of people and vehicles, manual and mechanical handling, work equipment, electrical, chemical and biological, physical and psychological, working at height, excavation work and confined spaces and demolition.
  • Successfully carry out a safety inspection of a construction workplace identifying hazards, recommending control measures and preparing a management report.

Certification

Delegates are awarded the Certificate on successful completion of one 2-hour written paper and a practical assessment which involves safety monitoring of a construction site and the production of a formal report under examination conditions.
