RIP old Azure exams… but what does this mean?

Well the time has come for Microsoft to retire some of their much loved Azure exams. As of 31st December 2018 the 70-532/3/5 exams were no more. We first heard about the sweeping changes Microsoft were to make in training and certification at Ignite 2018 and the first of the new role aligned courses and certifications were released later that year. With MS creating this new array of replacement certifications and courses then what was to happen with the old certifications? In my previous blog around these changes I covered the new 'transition' exams and what that meant for current certification holders. At the time of writing we had a couple of months grace to get to grips with the changes but now with the new year in full swing we are having to face the reality of prepping for these new exams. For anyone wishing to take the transition certification there are a couple of things you will need to know (full details available through the links).

Firstly, what exam do you need to take?

I am a 70-533 certificate holder, what can QA do to assist me with my transition exam?

As well as introducing the new Azure courses to the QA curriculum, QA have also developed the Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification Transition Exam AZ-102 Prep Workshop. This one day, instructor-led workshop helps certification holders to prepare for their transition exam by covering the objectives of the AZ-102 exam.

QA will be holding the first of these workshops on 12th February in our Reading Training Centre. Delegates can book their place here.

As in the first image, after passing this exam you will be an Azure Administrator. You will receive a digital badge that can be used to surface your skills and qualification via the badging Acclaim. The badging is designed to allow recruiters and other professionals to find you and your skills easily and provide a more user friendly digital transcript.

Best of luck!
