1-Day Course

This course helps prepare you for taking notes in HR meetings and investigations. It will help you record accurately and it presents general principles to meet your Trust's requirements.

Delegates will practise the skills needed to write clear, concise meeting notes, learning the techniques through group discussion and exercises. This will include practice sessions for each skill & allow delegates the opportunity to take notes in a meeting scenario activity.

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course you will have explored:

  • what you need to do to prepare for meetings prior to, during and after the event
  • the role and responsibilities of the Note Taker
  • common obstacles to effective listening and find solutions to these
  • methods of note-taking that suits your preferred style
  • ways to select the important and relevant points from a discussion
  • agreed conventions for the format of Notes
  • how produce an accurate set of notes, clearly and concisely
