Updates to QA apprenticeships

As you may be aware, Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IFATE) regularly review the apprenticeship standards to ensure they stay relevant and up to date.

Following an employer-led review of apprenticeship standards, IFATE have announced plans to update the standards within the digital route to reflect changes to job roles in recent years. This announcement will require all training providers to ensure their programmes reflect the new requirements.

As a result, we are now taking the opportunity to review the content of our programmes as per the new standards to ensure that we are delivering the most relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to our learners that their employers need. The amendments to our apprenticeship programmes will be made on a pro-programme basis as the standards for each practice field are realised, with the first set due be announced in January 2021.

We believe the upcoming updates to our programmes will make our apprenticeships even more relevant and accessible in the current digital world. Furthermore, our current market-leading Digital by Design delivery methodology, supported by our e-learning platform, Cloud Academy, will enable us to naturally accommodate such updates as and when required.

We will be reviewing our prospectus for all the programmes that are affected ahead of when the standards take effect and will provide you with an updated version as soon as we are able to. In the meantime, please get in touch with your QA Account Manager should you have any further questions at this stage.

The programme standards to be reviewed include:
