A little more about the role: Our new role of Head of Evenings & Weekend Delivery will have a complete focus on all student aspects, team management and academic delivery to ensure we are excelling in our student experience and academic results for our Undergrad and Masters’ student. With your hands on leadership, you will guide the team on a day to day basis, problem solving as required. Being in the classroom is a very important part of all our senior roles on Campus – good news, you will be allocated teaching hours to maintain your classroom contact. Ideally (but we are flexible and open to discussion) we are looking for the successful candidate to work 10am-6.30pm four week days with regular Saturday hours.
What you’ll get up to:
Work with the Deputy Dean of Faculty and Head of Department in the allocation of teaching for evening and weekend mode modules.
Assist with the recruitment of new evening/weekend faculty staff
Point of contact for new and existing members of faculty teaching on the evening/weekend delivery mode; including inductions, cover arrangements and general queries.
Support students on the evening and weekend delivery mode, offering appropriate support and linking to relevant departments and support systems, liaising with the Programme Management Teams.
Connect daytime programme teams with evening and weekend programme teams, liaising with different teams.
Lead and support the evening and weekend academic teams and establish a coherent approach to the delivery of the programme and academic/pastoral support for students.
Implement partner University’s academic and quality assurance policies and procedures, to be accountable for academic standards including ensuring the standards of internal and external validating and accrediting bodies are met where needed.
Manage teaching related issues on evening and weekend delivery for multiple years and cohorts.
Manage staff performance against key performance measures, undertake teaching observations, standardisation of assessment and identify staff development plans;
Monitor and review students’ achievement/progression and implement additional support mechanisms as appropriate;
