Q Are you looking for a role where you will be responsible for the day to day running of our Campus with up to 1000 students and big expectation to continue growth?   

A We are looking for a true leader to direct, support and develop our academic function ensuring our student experience is exceptional.     

A little more about the role: As Head of Department your experience will bring a huge contribution to the successful running of our campus where you will lead and manage the Business and Management faculty. You will provide leadership in academic affairs relating to the campus in promoting continuous improvement in student performance and retention, and quality enhancement within teaching and learning for all students. With your excellent leadership qualities, you will have the knowledge to select, develop and manage staff to ensure full potential and engagement is achieved. Also being in the classroom is a very important part of all our senior roles on Campus – good news, you will still have teaching involvement with some classroom teaching allocated.  

What you’ll get up to:

To lead and manage a university programme with programme managers on other campuses, ensuring a smooth student experience.

To work with the programme managers on other campuses to ensure an efficient and effective running of all Business and Management faculty programmes across the campus.

To ensure achievement of an excellent student experience on the campus, including outcomes and retention for students across partners

To maintain oversight of the student experience on the range of Business and Management faculty programmes running at the campus

To lead the recruitment of qualified and experienced academic staff and ensure an induction has been carried out for any staff teaching on programmes running at the campus 

To provide cross-faculty and cross-department cohesion on the campus with academic and non-academic teams

What you’ll bring to the team:

Significant record of successful leadership and programme management

Experience of improving and developing learning and teaching practice

Demonstrable success in building close relationships and partnerships with key

internal and external parties (university partners ideally)

Significant experience of effective people management including the management

of diverse groups of professional staff

Experience of working as a member of a programme management team in a large

and/or complex organisation

Successful track record of developing and sustaining a high quality student experience

Successful track record of improving and sustaining student outcomes

Track record of programme development and validation

 

Experience of effectively engaging with national and regional agencies in order to

support the development of the academic provision – desirable

 Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualification HEA Fellowship –desirable
