The course provides a high-level overview of the History of Cryptography, key roles and responsibilities, the end client organisational structure and the 9 Sections defined in the IS4 which are:

Section 4 – Physical Security;

Section 5 – Personal Security;

Section 6 – Accounting;

Section 7 – Incident Management Section 8 – Movement;

Section 9 - Disposal.
Additionally, it provides a staged approach to the ordering, delivery, accounting, movement, mustering and destruction of HMG Cryptographic items and walks the student through accounting processes. The course introduces those attending to the key points of contact within the end client, the reporting chain and contact details.
By the end of the course those attending will understand the Cryptographic Custodians duties and processes to be followed when handling HMG Cryptographic items. They will be able to use both the IS4 and UKKPA Handbook as Reference documentation to augment the overview that they have received on the course. Additionally, they will understand the process and chain of events required when ordering Cryptographic items and reporting standard and extraordinary events and incidents.
