During this two-day course delegates will build on the knowledge established at the foundation level. Understanding the links and relationships between the Principles, Approach, Process, and Embedding & Reviewing M_o_R which form the core concepts of M_o_R.
Throughout the course, our M_o_R experts help delegates understand how to put into practice the theory of M_o_R at each of the different perspectives.
Prior to the course, delegates will receive QA's pre-course reading to help them prepare adequately. Delegates need to bring with them their core textbook 'Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners' which they will have used at Foundation level. This course prepares learners for the M_o_R Practitioner examination, which learners book independently and take outside of their QA course, using a voucher provided by QA.
Delegates must have passed the M_o_R Foundation exam prior to taking the M_o_R Practitioner exam
Delegates will be provided with QA's pre-course reading prior to attending the course to help them prepare for the course. The pre-course reading is expected to take approximately 10 hours to complete. Success on the course will be enhanced by close attention to the pre-reading material.
Proof of identification
If taking an exam, candidates are required to provide photo ID with a valid signature e.g., driving license, passport, or named work ID badge prior to sitting their exam. Failure to produce this ID will result in their exam results being withheld until proof of ID is provided. Please note that if proof is not provided within 40 days, candidate's exam results will be null and void and a re-sit will be required.
Reasonable Adjustments Policy
The exam provider allows additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. Delegates failing to advise QA and provide evidence when requested may not be allowed the additional support offered via the policy. The M_o_R Practitioner course includes a number of hands-on exercises to ensure that the theory is embedded and delegates feel confident in the practical application of M_o_R. Additional evening work will be required in the form of consolidation reading and mock examination questions. The evening work is an integral part of the course and delegates should expect to spend approximately two hours on the activities.

Introduction to M_o_R Practitioner Examination
Delegates are introduced to the structure and syllabus content of the Practitioner exam, as well as the style of the exam's questions and advice on how to manage time during the exam.
Review of M_o_R Framework
Reviewing and recapping all areas of the M_o_R framework covered at Foundation level. Building on delegates existing knowledge to understand the linkages and relationships between the Principles, Approach, Process, and Embedding and Reviewing M_o_R.
Preparing for the Practitioner exam
Using a sample exam paper and scenario, delegates can practise exam questions and timings in preparation for the live exam. The M_o_R expert will encourage discussions not only around the correct answers, but also around common pitfalls, in order to reinforce learners' understanding of the methodology.
M_o_R Practitioner Examination
Key exam information:
- 3 hours
- Open book
- 4 questions (1 for each perspective)
- Each question has 20 individual questions giving 80 questions in total
- 50% pass mark
Throughout the M_o_R Practitioner course, learners will be exposed to numerous examples of examination questions. Learners will undertake a number of exercises and 'question-and-answer' sessions that will help to consolidate the learning, ensuring that they are more than adequately prepared for the final examination.
PeopleCert exams take place remotely via PeopleCert Online Proctoring and can be taken any time after the last day of your course that will finish at approximately 4.00pm. When booking your exam, please ensure that it is for a time after the course has concluded. The exam wraps around your preferred learning style and is available on the PeopleCert exam platform. You will be required to download and install ExamShield and conduct a compatibility test prior to sitting the exam.

How can I create an account on myQA.com?
There are a number of ways to create an account. If you are a self-funder, simply select the "Create account" option on the login page.
If you have been booked onto a course by your company, you will receive a confirmation email. From this email, select "Sign into myQA" and you will be taken to the "Create account" page. Complete all of the details and select "Create account".
If you have the booking number you can also go here and select the "I have a booking number" option. Enter the booking reference and your surname. If the details match, you will be taken to the "Create account" page from where you can enter your details and confirm your account.

How do QA’s virtual classroom courses work?
Our virtual classroom courses allow you to access award-winning classroom training, without leaving your home or office. Our learning professionals are specially trained on how to interact with remote attendees and our remote labs ensure all participants can take part in hands-on exercises wherever they are.
We use the WebEx video conferencing platform by Cisco. Before you book, check that you meet the WebEx system requirements and run a test meeting (more details in the link below) to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. How do QA’s online courses work?
QA online courses, also commonly known as distance learning courses or elearning courses, take the form of interactive software designed for individual learning, but you will also have access to full support from our subject-matter experts for the duration of your course. When you book a QA online learning course you will receive immediate access to it through our e-learning platform and you can start to learn straight away, from any compatible device. Access to the online learning platform is valid for one year from the booking date.

When will I receive my joining instructions?
Joining instructions for QA courses are sent two weeks prior to the course start date, or immediately if the booking is confirmed within this timeframe. For course bookings made via QA but delivered by a third-party supplier, joining instructions are sent to attendees prior to the training course, but timescales vary depending on each supplier’s terms.
