PRINCE2 has traditionally been seen as the de facto standard for governance in a structured project environment. However, organisations are increasingly leveraging the obvious benefits that agile techniques bring to your project production environment. This learning path looks at how you can marry together the strong project governance derived from PRINCE2 with the key agile techniques that allow for rapid and adaptable delivery. This hybrid approach allows for Agile to govern the project’s delivery while PRINCE2 governs the project as a whole.
You will begin with an introduction to the history, principles and manifesto of Agile. You will gain an appreciation of the main rules and artefacts of agile, how to produce work via sprints, how to manage a product backlog and how to define the Product Vision. You will also learn how agile techniques can be blended with other practices such as Kanban.
Course two in this learning path then goes on to examine, in-depth, how you can utilise AgilePM techniques with PRINCE2 governance. You will gain an introduction to PRINCE2; you will explore how to blend PRINCE2 and Agile. You will learn what to fix and what to flex in hybrid-PRINCE2/Agile projects and how agile behaviours can interact with the PRINCE2 principles, themes and processes.
You will receive the ICAgile Fundamentals certification and on successful completion of the course. PRINCE2 Agile Foundation and PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certifications are achieved via the successful completion of a one hour multiple choice and 2.5 hour written exam undertaken on the final day of the respective courses.
You should possess a fundamental understanding of the universal principles of project management.
