Overview

With a CCNA Security certification, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to: develop a security infrastructure, recognise threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats.

The CCNA Security curriculum emphasises: core security technologies; the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices; and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure.

Certification details

You must hold a valid Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), CCNA Routing and Switching (CCNA), or any CCIE certification before taking the two required courses and examinations below:

Please note:

  • CCENT – Cisco Certified Entry Level Networking Technician, is based on CICND1. If you have already taken this course and passed the exam, you do not need to repeat it below.
  • Also, if you already hold the CCNA Routing and Switching, then you would not need to complete CICND1 and the associated exam again.
