With huge amounts of machine data generated in dynamic, virtual and cloud infrastructures on a daily basis, there is an acute need to apply analytics-based technologies to solve IT problems. VMware vCenter Log Insight extends VMware’s leadership in analytics capabilities to unstructured data and log files, giving you operational intelligence and deep, enterprise-wide visibility across all tiers of your IT infrastructure and applications, without the need to know the data beforehand.

How often do you check your log files? Usually, when something goes wrong.

Log files provide valuable information for troubleshooting and also analysing performance. The issue is, that there is generally too much information and too many log files that require monitoring.

Today June 11 th 2013, VMware have announced a new product VMware vCenter Log Insight .

To quote their website.

"VMware vCenter™ Log Insight™ delivers automated log management through log analytics, aggregation and search, extending VMware's leadership in analytics to log data. With an integrated cloud operations management approach, it provides the operational intelligence and enterprise-wide visibility needed to proactively enable service levels and operational efficiency in dynamic hybrid cloud environments."
