We wanted to encourage diversity when we brought in our next generation of employees, and attract more young people and women into the technology sector. Apprenticeships seemed an ideal way to do that.
QA Apprenticeships impressed us as they showed the flexibility to take our requirements and deliver something really effective. The week-long blocks of training meant our apprentices would return to Cisco with a complete set of new skills, and gave them the structure and support to make a smooth transition from full-time education into full-time work.
Every placement the apprentices have completed has been a great success; we receive very enthusiastic feedback from all departments and we have actually extended the length of their placements as managers are so reluctant to let them move on. Their attitude and enthusiasm has made them a pleasure to work with for all our staff.
