Head of Learning Delivery - Agile & PPM
Jo has been working with QA since 2007. With 26 years’ experience in the discipline of Project Management she has considerable skill and experience in the design and delivery of Project Management education solutions for both Private and Public sector clients and brings an enthusiastic approach to lecturing. Jo is accredited in PRINCE2, PMI, APM PMQ and Agile disciplines and has extensive experience in advising major organisations such as ITV and Visa in the development of their in-house project management methods. Since 2017 she has provided strategic leadership to the PPM function and driven the digital transformation strategy.
Director of Agile & Projects
Phil has been involved in software development, consultancy and training for almost 30 years. He has a strong interest in Agile Software Development and is passionate about developing and delivering high quality training. With a focus on helping others to learn, Phil has designed and delivered training programmes across many sectors including financial, manufacturing, engineering and service.
Since May 2016, Phil has led the Agile practice at QA. In that role, he is responsible for developing the curriculum and the team who deliver it. He also authors new content and acts as a Product Owner for other authors. His mission is to help organisations introduce Agile successfully by focusing on their culture and Agile teams to work more effectively.
Phil and his team engage with senior stakeholders to help develop an Agile culture and an understanding of Agile practices at all levels across the organisation. This can then be followed by role specific training and coaching. He also works with agile teams, helping them to implement Scrum, Kanban and other complementary practices such as Test Driven Development - TDD. He also works with Project managers to help them manage their projects in a more Agile way.
Learning Programme Director
Carl is an experienced project management practitioner with delivery expertise at individual and corporate level. He adopts a pragmatic and highly enthusiastic approach to whatever assignment he is involved, helping people and organisations develop best practice project delivery capability. Carl started his career in the Nuclear Industry in South Africa and has developed methodologies, processes and procedures in support of best practice project management in a wide range of industry areas.
Learning Programme Manager
Peter Ballard is our Portfolio Management specialist who embarked on his Project Management career over 25 years ago while in the Royal Air Force. From those early beginnings as part of a small team juggling four Nimrod major servicing projects simultaneously and nearly 85 teams he has thrived on the challenge of changing organisations for the better. None more so than, on leaving the RAF in the early nineties, to implementing one of the first Medical Pathology IT systems within the NHS. “Green Field sites may appear easy but they often represent quite radical change.” Peter brings his wide-ranging P3M (Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management) experience gained from public, private, and third sectors to the classroom delivering PPM and Business Systems Development courses.
Learning Programme Director
Michael has been teaching at QA for 12 years and is the lead trainer for MSP, managing successful programmes. Before this he worked with the public sector to implement initiatives such as the egovernment agenda. Michael has also project and programme managed many large scale implementations in the construction industry and in web technologies and ecommerce, as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for some well know utility and communications organisations. Michael believes in teaching in a down-to-earth style, using everyday real examples and injecting a bit of humour!
Learning Programme Director - South West
Steve is a qualified Portfolio Management (MoP), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and PRINCE 2 Practitioner with 30 years of experience in managing projects, including military construction tasks, major organisational change & development projects, introduction of new IT systems and training projects. He also has substantial experience in project, programme and portfolio management relating to property/estates.
