Overview
This course builds on student’s system administration experience with Oracle Solaris 10 and provides the skills and knowledge required for transitioning from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course is intended for System Administrators and IT architects who are responsible for planning and performing transitioning tasks.
During this course, students examine various aspects of planning for the transition from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course highlights the new features delivered with Oracle Solaris 11 including Automated Installer (AI), Image Packaging System (IPS), and network virtualization. Throughout the course, students practice transitioning to the Oracle Solaris 11 operating environment by performing a series of guided hands-on labs that walk the student through the critical tasks associated with operating system migration activities. These labs include case studies that showcase best practices when transitioning from Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11. This course focuses on the new and enhanced features found in the Oracle Solaris 11 operating system. It assumes the student already has the skills and knowledge necessary for administering Oracle Solaris 10.
