Preparing for the PMP® Exam

Overview

In an increasingly competitive market place project managers are becoming more aware of the importance of recognition for the skills and experience that they have. The Project Management Institute PMP® accreditation provides this recognition on a global scale and is increasingly sort after by professional project managers throughout the world.

This course aims to prepare attendees to take the PMP® exam and provides 14 hours of training towards the 35 hours required as a prerequisite.

Prerequisites

Experienced Project Managers who meet the Project Management Institute pre-requisites (see www.pmi.org) and who have substantial knowledge of the generic skills required by a project manager (e.g. Work Breakdown, estimating techniques, critical path analysis, scheduling, project control techniques).

Please note – Delegates must bring the current edition of the PMBOK® Guide with them for this course.

Course Outline

The PMBOK®Guide Framework
This session provides an introduction to PMBOK® Guide approach, the nine knowledge areas and the five process groups. Exploration of the contents of Chapters 1 to 3 of thePMBOK® Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Project Integration Management
An overview of the Knowledge Area, processes and key deliverables. Exploration of the contents of Chapter 4 of the PMBOK® Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Project Scope Management
An overview of the Knowledge Area, processes and key deliverables. Exploration of the contents of Chapter 5 of the PMBOK® Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge

Project Time Management

Mock Exam
In addition to the 150 questions provided during the course a 100-question mock exam is provided.

Examinations

The PMP® exam is normally taken on-line and will need to be arranged directly with the PMI® (www.pmi.org).
